Sorry Detroit...

For as much love as I have for America's automotive heartland (Toledo, OH being especially close to my Jeep bleeding heart), we Texan Ranger fans will forever protest and continue to resist your Tiger team's quest for ALCS victory. I am at once saddened for my automotive hometown's heart but at the same time overwhelming strengthened by yet another crushing home run by one Texan Ranger named Nelson Cruz. I do not wish heartache upon you Detroit scoundrels, but the inevitable is upon you, and whether it be the St. Louis Redturds or those no good Beer brewing drunks from some little known Milwaukee hamlet, it matters not who appears on our palate next, it all will only be a matter of time before all of you fools must desist and acknowledge the greatness that is the 2011 Texas Rangers. Looks like this year is ours.

I will accept applications for Texas citizenship on a case by case basis. Go ahead and send me a PM if you want to leave your state and join the winning team. As Lyle Lovett says, "that's right, you're not from Texas, but Texas wants you". However, please keep in mind that the competition is fierce and not all will be accepted. Nothing personal you dirty yankees. We welcome you down here to paradise.

Oh look! Another one out of the park!

I gotta say that Detroit has some pretty good hitters on the team and some great pitchers, but it doesn't look good for it being their year to get to the World Series. Cruz is a machine that without the Rangers could likely be 1-3 instead of 3-1 going into tonight's game.

I wear my Rangers and Mavericks decals on the back window of my MJ's canopy with pride in a region full of Mariners, Trailblazers, and Giants fans.

Verlander goes tonight so that's a Detroit win and a 3-2 series. Then it shifts back to Texas where the Rangers only need to win one out of the two home games. It sure doesn't look good for Los Tigres del Norte Detroit. Along with Cruz's late hitting heroics, I equally credit the Ranger bullpen for shutting down the Detroit hitters. Very surprising, I thought the Detroit bullpen was better.......

Giants fans in Oregon?

Unfortunately. Its the closest NL team; the Mariners are the closest AL team... that and the A's. Most tv/radio coverage is for the Mariners, which is fortunate since the Rangers are in the same division, as are the A's. With the WS win last year there's plenty of people with Giants ballcaps and sweatshirts around this neck of the woods. A lot of Yankees posers too. When I went to an event at Infineon/Sears Point at the north end of the bay this past April, I made sure I wore my Rangers ballcap... just to get people wound up. :D
