jimoshel
Used one on tractors, airplanes and old time (pre '55) cars and trucks. Also some generators and welders have one.
Naterenfo1
I was actually considering doing a hand throttle also, I talked to a former CC member about how he did it in his MJ, and he ended up using a bicycle gear selector that he wrapped down his shifter, through the shifter boot, underneath the transmission tunnel, all the way up to the throttle, Where he used a machine screw, bolt, and a couple washers to hold it on. He said he really really liked it alot, I will see if I can get a couple pictures from him. He put the throttle on the actual shifter, so he could change settings on the fly if needed. Hope that helps a little bit for ideas! -Nate EDIT: Just read your link above  well, I guess here's proof that it works! :clapping:
foreman1063
I have one mounted on the stick on my TJ. It's great for rock crawlin when you need one foot on the clutch, one on the brake and one on the gas. Have also used it as a make shift cruise control a couple of times too
KYMJ
Being an old bicycle guy, I made mine with old bicycle parts. Used an old frame shifter from an old road bike. Never heard of using a grip shifter.

philbert001
has any one used a hand throttle? How else would I choke my wife! (Sorry! The Troll comes out when I drink and play on computer!)
deziped
A little tweeking of the CAD manual disconnects would make a nice throttle cable. Manual throttles were neat. We use to cruise down the highways at speed standing out on the running boards in the breeze. Or do as my brother use to do and let air pressure out of his tires and ride the train tracks for miles while he sat on the roof of his old jalopy. granted he did leave the tracks a few times at some paved crossings. Gotta hold the wheel at those crossings.

banshee
I'm using one off a Honda odyssey myself works great because it was designed to mount onto the steering wheel, so remounting to onto the shifter isn't a problem, note I have mine adjust just enough to allow me to run, but NOT floor the motor, one more thing it’s hard to get used too… B…
