Jerry Forrester
Hello boys and girls. I've been reading the forum for a couple days now and I notice most of you have 4 wheel drive Comanches. I hope you don't mind if I talk about my little 2 wheel drive. My name is Jerry, I am 68 years old and I have a Comanche for a daily driver. I have a 1991 Comanche 2 wheel drive, 5 speed that I bought for $1600 seven years and 45,000 miles. ago. When I first got him, he would run hot. But a new radiator fixed that problem. Since then, a water pump, front brake pads, serpentine belt and regular maintenance are all it has needed. He now has almost 255,000 miles on the odometer and doesn't show any sign of letting up. Of course since I've bragged on him, he'll probably let me down this afternoon. later, Jerry
Rymanrph
Welcome. I think many of us bought our trucks for a variety of reasons, but I don't consider the 2wd Comanche any less of Jeep even though I converted mine. 2wd or 4wd, they are all loved here. Post up some pictures if you have any.
Backdraft
Ditto, mine was a 2wd that didn't run when I bought it. Since then, I have been pleasantly surprised how capable these trucks are in the 2wd flavor. Near indestructible as well!
terrawombat
Nothing wrong with a 2WD MJ. I daily drive a 2WD 92, although I would like to convert it to 4WD before this next winter.
Jerry Forrester
Here he is. Just remember he's a work truck. I really don't want to show a pic of the bed. A tree fell across the bed a couple years ago and both sides got mashed down. I managed to get them raised back up quite a bit but he'll need a new bed to ever look right again. BTW, He has a bench seat. His seat cover is worn out. Do any of you guys have a decent seat cover (preferably grey) for sell? later, Jerry
terrawombat
Keep an eye out in the Classified section on here or browse Craigslist for a bench seat. They usually don't sell for much since most prefer bucket seats.

KYMJ
Need a bed? I bought a rust free one that wound up being not so rust free and needs a patch welded over the drivers side wheelwell. I'm leaning toward just getting rid of it. I have no fab skills.

No thanks, It's usable the way it is. This is a rust free 'manche and if I were to get another bed for him it will have to be a rust free bed. BTY, he's a short bed. Okay, here's pix of the bed with all it's warts. Remember, he's a work truck! later, Jerry
