16in Steelie availability?

Recommended Posts

Not interested in Soft 8s, or D windows, or anything like that. Anyone know where I can find some of these in 16in, or what truck at the J/Y to look for? I know WJ spares are somewhat similar and are 16in, it's just finding 4 can be hard.

I'm not sure if you have a set of 16's laying around that you want to use or what, but you might look into the Chrysler LH platform 16" steel wheels. I have not researched these, and it being a front wheel drive platform it may have too much backspacing. The LH platform being the LHS, Concorde, and 300M. I have however looked into the Chrysler LX platform wheels, but they are 17 and 18 inch steelies with correct bolt pattern, backspacing and hub diameter. The 17's come as base wheels on the 300, Magnum and Charger models that come with hubcaps. They are a bullethole pattern. The 18's are a 5 spoke design that come on the Charger and Magnum Police cars and I think are pretty good looking. There is a thread about a guy using the 17's on naxja.org right now in the modified tech section. here's the link...

I'm keeping my eye out for a set of the police style ones for future use. I have found some on http://www.car-part.com for about $75 each, but I think thats still a bit steep for what I want. Anyways... good luck.

Dude on NAXJA has these ......... 16's off a dodge charger

Probably easy to get since people at dealerships have'm laying around, since most chargers have alloys, or something else on them.

I had actually seen those before on the dodges and thought they looked pretty good.

I like the utilitarian look of them, and I personally hate the look of soft 8's.

I have been looking for a set like those for my MJ, I think some older dodge pickups had them.

If you find a bunch I am interested in 5 please :D

I asked on the Jeep Liberty forum to see if anyone knows.

This could be helpful:

They want way more for them than what I am willing to pay, but it mentions this style being factory on some older mopars.

Ah right, forgot about that. Guess it didn't occur to me because I'd just as soon have 15s as 16s.

15" won't clear big brakes, or modern brakes, in most cases.
