Pete M
have you tried watching the fuel spray pattern on the fuel injector? done a general tune up lately?
shawn
did all of what i had first mentioned, plus plugs and wires. thought i had solved it with the wires but it came back today. not looking forward to trying the 02 sensor this month due to its high cost. shawn
plus 3 other things: - sometimes it seems to do it when its been driven a long ways. it will just suddenly lose power. but will continue to run fine at low rpms ( and idle fine). - quite often the idle speed will continuously change. -but not all the time. - the heater only blows from the defog vents. ( vacuum leak?).
Pete M
if the heat only comes out the vents, then you likely have a vacuum leak. that's where I would focus my efforts since it could cause engine issues also.
brdhntr
sounds like a vacuum leak that may be from a loose, not broken, vacuum line. another thing, it could be a bad coil. if the coil is bad, it can be affected by heat, vibration, etc, that can cause a intermitent problem. if you want to replace the coil, just buy an accel rather than oem. the oem 1 will cost more and puts out less. the accel coil can be had for 30-45 bucks.
