I stopped off at a couple of junkyards today, looking for a set of bucket seats and any other tasty bits that previous scavengers may have left behind. Neither one had a single Comanche. Plenty of XJs with interiors in various states of decrepitude, but nary an MJ to be found, nor even an XJ with a decent set of blue buckets. Harrumph. Time to try some new yards, I suppose.

In over a year I've only seen one Comanche in a JY, A '87 MT. I got the D44, 23 gal tank, drive shaft and radio. Went back two days later for the motor, tranny and rear bumper. It was gone.

I come across them on a fairly regular basis, but then again I hit the junkyards frequently and a large number of yards as well - increases chances of finding them.

Only come across one with a D44.

I have been to alot of the yards on Broadway, tons of XJ's, the only MJ I found was at Ecology on 27th ave and it was already stripped. Haven't looked for about 4 weeks. Good luck. If you find one I am looking for the interior map/dome lights, if you don't need them.

you'll have better chances finding one on Craigslist. not everybody gets rid of a car just because it doesnt run. thats what those old barns are for :shake:

Heh, I was at both Ecology locations today. No MJ's to be found.

Also, I'm thinking about going with these lights, as it seems that decent originals are nigh impossible to find.

http://www.euramtec.com/catalog/parts.php?section=C1 - they're the A-7180's.

I found a thread somewhere that said they ended up being about $15/each shipped, or you can go here http://www.infiniteinnovations.com/main.asp?p=4_179 and they seem to have them too.

Off topic but I bought them from innovative and it'll cost the same because they charge you if you don't buy a certain amount of stuff....

Back on topic... I asked my local yard if they have ever had any Jeep Comanches and they looked at me like I had 2 heads so I showed them mine and they said never had one in over 10 years! Very rare around these parts!

That's because Wildman buys them before they get to the yard.

hey guys, I wish I had even some close possibility to finding a MJ on a JY. Here there are only 7 registered in the whole country. Inluding mine...
