mjeff87 Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Guys, I need an aluminum wheel for my TJ to replace the steel spare. These were on my TJ when I bought it a couple years ago.....can anyone tell me what style they are (and where I can buy one)? Thanks, Jeff Image Not Found
Rymanrph Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Can't help with where to buy them, but I think they're Alcoas: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/stock ... ost4121478
89flat Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 they are Mickey Thompsom alcoa style rims, although they could be Alcoa brand but i doubt it
Dirteatr717 Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 those are alcoas, they were a special edition rim that were sold with TJs and my friend has a set of 4 he is trying to sell, theyre about 150 a piece on ebay hope this helps :waving:
jpnjim Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 They look really similar to the deep backspacing ARE Baja's (15x8's with 5.25" backspacing) I had 'upgraded' to different center caps, these are the ones they originally came with (now on my buddy's Jeep): They look the same to me anyway :dunno: Image Not Found edit, looks like I paid $72.25 each for them 8 years ago lol http://www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums/sh ... p?t=106022
88pioneer Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 I agree, my friend just bought a TJ Rocky Mountain addition. Its got those wheels, alcoas. There pretty nice, I've always liked there wheels. O an the TJ's got a 44 rear :fs2:
mjeff87 Posted December 3, 2010 Author Posted December 3, 2010 I dunno guys....consensus says they are Alcoas, but some are saying AR's or MT's..... there's a local wheel place I'm gonna run down to on Saturday and let them look at them to make sure. I've got a set of 5 Treadwright MT/R's on the way to me, and I wanna run them in a full rotation so I need to replace the stock steelie spare with one that matches. Thanks for all the input  Jeff
HOrnbrod Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 Jeff, did you pull one of the wheels and look on the inside? Usually the mfg, p/n, BS, etc. is stamped there.
jpnjim Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 Reading whatever the center caps say would be a start too. ;) I'm thinking Alcoa's have steel lug nut inserts, I know the ARE's I had did not have any inserts.
mjeff87 Posted December 3, 2010 Author Posted December 3, 2010 Don, I checked the outside-facing surface and didn't see anythang...I'll pull one off and check the inside to see. Jim, good idea but...weren't no center caps on the rig when I bought it, I picked those ones you see up at a local wheel shop. They are generic. Jeff
