as you can see, I am off to a slow start with a blown up motor, trashed rear end, and I haven't gotten all my rims switched yet... I am doing about 1 a day by hand.....

 

My goal is to just build a capable beater with as little money in it as I can.... more pics to come.

You know a 4.3 will not bolt to your stock tranny right? The bolt patterns on the 4.3 and 2.8 are totally different. The easiest bolt in would be a 3.4 out of a Camaro or Fireturd. Same pattern as the 2.8 with more power to boot. Just something else for you to look into.

I second the camaro 3.4L 91-94 you would keep all your outer junk-intake, water pump, alt and us the 3.4 exhaust manifold super easy

I know all about the 3.4 swap... but it is like pulling @$$ hairs out of a wild cat trying to find one around here.. 4.3's are a dime a dozen... AA makes motor mounts and bellhousings for the swap.
