well a split in one of my heater hoses has me at a stand still. ive looked at a few pull-a-parts but nothing really. or at least what my 88 has. ive searched and read you can upgrade the system or something. whats that about or is there a direct replacement i can buy somewhere? its the one hose that comes out of the thermostat and runs back into the firewall. help appreciated :yes:s

It's actually an 11/16" hose. But since that size is a little harder to find, 3/4" will work. I would double-clamp it. You can also use 5/8" hose, but it's a little tight. And 5/8" is the size of the other heater hose from the water pump to the firewall.

i have another hose that i got at the pull a part but didnt have one like my 88. i would rig it but theres a metal T that splits the hose into the coolant reservoir and into the firewall. I'm saying how do i go about fixing it/rigging it, whatever. the metal T isnt big enough to slide the hose over it or i would

Put in a '91 + XJ rad and eliminate the bottle and rubbish in the heater system except the on/off valve (you can even run without that till spring)

The hose that goes from the lower outlet on the firewall to the water pump is 5/8". The hose that goes from the upper outlet on the firewall to the thermostat housing is 11/16".

Thanks. For some reason, I recall the hoses being two different sizes at each end of the hose .. e.g. from the heater core to the metal T, or the T to the t-stat.
