JOMJ87 Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Thats a train air horn I had one on mine until I went for inspections in NC the one time they actually checked it and they blew the horn and I heard every tool drop in the place. They then ask me to remove it and I told them to hit the right button (i had 2 horns) and it would be normal. ;) Cole
500 MJ Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 That rocks, how do you go about getting one of those?
JOMJ87 Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 I found mine at a yard sale with the air compressor if you can call it that and everything. Also if you have OBA you can use semi truck ones.... Cole
feerocknok Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 :laughin: I've seen train horns for sale, but don't buy the $90 set they have at all the parts stores; they won't do that!
jage Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 One of the guys in our club has an air horn off an old firetruck. not quite the same, but he runs it off his onboard air tank

Xacto Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 There are collectors of railroad airhorns who get together to blow there stuff but they do it legally in the woods rather than scaring the crap out of pedestrians on the street. I collected some short videos a while back: http://www.true2scale.net/horns The large horn in the bed of the one truck is from a freighter for those who want to outdo a train, lol.
jpdriver1 Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 check these guys out --- they build em themselves http://groups.yahoo.com/group/steam-whistles/
