I've been dealing with overheating issues recently.

Have you made sure the cooling system has been "burped" of air?

Also, so you don't worry about it too much, in the original owners manual it says that "under certain conditions (long hills on hot days, stopped in traffic, towing) your vehicle may overheat, if this happens pull over but do not switch off, bring the revs up slightly to circulate coolant for about 15 seconds". I tried this and the temp does drop rapidly as opposed to just shutting it off right away which means it has to cool by radiating heat from the block naturally.

it wouldn't need to be burped, its an open cooling system. 220 doesn't really scare me, i run close to that all the time

When I took my MJ for the first ride this year, (stored all winter) it was getting HOT. I took the cap off the coolant bottle and it seemed to burp about 4 times and now it runs just fine at its normal 190 or so. :hmm:

I just didn't want anyone to think I was pimping another board on here...

Linking to another forum to help out a fellow Jeeper is never considered pimping. :D
