1990 Jeep Comanche Pioneer

4.0/AX15/NP231/D30/?/LWB

Build date: 01-90

Current Location: Probably all over (junked awhile ago)

Status: Brent Marsh's dad used the drive train in his Willy's I believe, some parts were sold off before being junked. I found the VIN on the door I used for window parts so I thought I'd post it up. Here's the original part out post: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5418

Very cool Dave, I was going to get the VIN from our Ahem "files" at home when I was home next and do this too. I'll fill in on the info you didn't have:

1990, Jeep Comanche, Pioneer.

Stock Configuration:

4.0L / AX-15 / NP-231 / D30 / D35 / LWB

Notes: Dad and I got our hands on this one a little too late. The story we were told was that the clutch had gone out in it, so the previous owner started to dismantle the truck with his sawzall (he was after the copper wire in the harness). So we hear about it and go get it before he takes it to the junkyard. The damage was done. It would have taken a complete harness to save it, and after he turned it over a few times with his tractor (the huge dents in the roof) it was not worth saving anymore. So we got all the parts we could get from it and finished off what he started. It went to the yard in many pieces, but everything savable was kept. The truck had 180,904.7 miles on it. EVERYTHING savable was kept, including the cluster. :clapping: The truck had turbines on it when we got it, P.O. wanted them back for the alum. weight. We put the steelies on it to move it around the yard.

My Dad is no longer going to use the driveline from this truck for his project, so all those parts became mine :D Good to have spares, the AX-15 and NP-231 from this truck are what are currently putting the power to the ground in my '88. He is using the front axle and steering column though. We sold a few of the other parts off, some to Dave who started this thread.

Current Location: Multiple vehicles on the road today.

Status: Parted.

Current owner: The big yard in the sky.
