JOMJ87
Here we go i am needing to know 2 things. First what is the best way to remove the emblems on the header panel?? I think they are just pop off but didnt want to break them. Second How do you remove the trim around the grill? Its the 1" wide strip around the grill and headlights in between the header panel and the grill. Mine is chrome and i want to paint it black but unsure how to remove it. Thanks alot Cole
KYMJ
Nuts on the JEEP. Screws on the other trim. Not hard to remove the header panel, to get to them.

GirsMJ86
all my trim i have always just pulled off. the only thing is is tryin to get the tape off the backside if you want to reuse them. Alex
500 MJ
Be careful with the letters on the front, some have nuts and some have tape on them for backing. Also, your Chrome front trim pieces... do you have a whole chrome front end on the Jeep. I am looking for one for mine and will gladly trade the black front end that is on my Jeep. It was bought 5 years ago from the Jeep dealership and just has some mild fading on the 8 slot grille... :brows:
KYMJ
Sorry, I was in a hurry when I posted that. Both of mine have nuts on the JEEP letters and there are small screws holding the trim above and below the grill.
JOMJ87
Its not the chrome on the grill piece it is the 1'' wide strip that runs around the header and grill area you can see the chrome in this pic Cole
Oizarod115
why take it off? just tape some newspaper around to protect the areas near it and blast her with some flat black :chillin:
JOMJ87
I am going to now that i took a good look at it. I did the JEEP tonight and yes it was bolted on so i removed it and sprayed away. Cole
GirsMJ86
nice paint job by the way Cole. looks sort of like what i was going to do to my 86. but i was going to put all my own stencils on to match how the old MBs were. if ya want to see an example of it just search for my topic called "paint job ideas" IIRC. that is also if i still have the pic hosted anymore.
