comanche12 Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I'm wonder if anyone have the cluster gauge(combination gauge) wiring diagram map? if yes, then can I have a copy of it?
90MJext Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 The cluster wiring or the wiring connected to the cluster
JeepcoMJ Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 why do you need it? full gauge cluster is bolt-in
comanche12 Posted April 27, 2010 Author Posted April 27, 2010 wiring plug to cluster... the connector was all cutted and leave it up like pigtail style :( so i gotta fix and reconnect them back together and solder it up, heat shrink it up
HOrnbrod Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Yes, I have them. Which cluster (year, application, low/mid/high line) do you need??
comanche12 Posted April 27, 2010 Author Posted April 27, 2010 Yes, I have them. Which cluster (year, application, low/mid/high line) do you need?? thank you and its 1987, just comanche 4wd 4.0l I6 and not sure what do u mean application?
HOrnbrod Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 thank you and its 1987, just comanche 4wd 4.0l I6 and not sure what do u mean application? Sent my response before you replied. I have the internal wiring diagrams of the various clusters. For the external harness connections I only have the HO models. Anyone w. a Renix FSM pertaining to your model year should be able to provide you this. I'm sure one of our fine forum Renix gentlemen can provide what you need.

HOrnbrod Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 haha thanks and i gotta to buy Haynes manual book someday haha Friendly advice from an oldtimer: While it's better than no reference, please don't waste your hard earned $$ on the Haynes stuff. Save up for the factory FSMs. It's the best tool you'll ever have and the investment will pay for itself many times over if you do your own maintenance as most of us do.

Wildman Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 :agree: with Mr. Hornbrod, get the FSM over any off the shelf book. And for your viewing pleasure........... Little dirty, but cheap - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 0286543685 Great shape and good price - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep-Wra ... rsQ5fManua Just make sure you get the 2 book set, body/engine and the electrical. Also, the '89 will cover all '87-'90 Renix era models. Both those listings are alot better that the $100 I paid for my FSM  But my set was brand spanking new :D Now with many tags on the chapters

comanche12 Posted June 29, 2010 Author Posted June 29, 2010 also I'm soon got do the conversion from speed cable mechanic to electronic and rpm sensor?(crankshaft sensor or something else) plus new ect sensor and oil pressure sensor
dasbulliwagen Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Theres a downloadable 88 FSM on here somewhere. I saved it to my comp and reference it all the time. But I'm not sure where you would find the link to it. From what Ive found, most of the wiring is the same from 87 up to 90, thats XJ and MJ. They are alike enough that Ive been able to figure out what I need when I need it. Maybe someone else will remember where to find it.

comanche12 Posted June 29, 2010 Author Posted June 29, 2010 i have that pdf, thanks tho but i mean that guage cluster from 1990's its little different. only same color wires are fuel, ground, white with black trim, thats all i can remember i can't find alternator wire(tan with green), ect wire(purple), etc. edit: i got feel that someone who worked on it had been custom the wire like remove the purple wire because i got the separate purple wires and its guided to the other panel area with aftermarket gauges of ect and oil pressure. :fs1: i don't want them i rather have them as turbo psi, fuel/air ratio, etc. not ECT and oil pressure which have in the cluster gauges??? :headpop: so my point is i think that the last owner removed the alternaor, oil pressure and ect wires out of the cluster gauges' connector (no. C203)? :hmm:
comanche12 Posted June 30, 2010 Author Posted June 30, 2010 here the wires color that connector have right now I'm sure its missing something -white/black -lt blue/red -white/orange -blue -vio/lt green -gray/dk blue -gray -light green -dk green/black -tan -black -black/lt green or lt green/black I'm sure its miss: -vio-ECT -tan/green-alternator -lt blue-oil pressure etc. -
tugalo Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 look here: http://www.greatlakesxj.com/tech.html When you remove the cluster, the circuit board is very easy to follow and repair once you have the schematic of the inputs.
