Welcome! Plenty of guys on here over near your neck of the woods, hopefully you won't have any problems finding one!

Remember, a 2wd MJ or XJ isn't really a problem.. more of an inconvenience. Converting a 2wd XJ or MJ to 4wd is relatively simple if you have some wrenching knowledge and experience.

You need to check that craigslist at least twice a day. It is amazing how fast a 'decent' truck will get sold :typing: Also helps if you are willing to drive a fair distance. I had a short 7 hour drive to buy my MJ.

Welcome to the club, where the insanity meets reality and consumes your life :brows: Don't drink the water and you will be fine

Or you can get two rust free MJ's dropped in you lap for little of nothin! If youre willing to make a trip south to buy one, you won't be disappointed! Just jump down through WV and Virginia, and your almost to NC, do a national craigslist search and see what comes up! Try crazedlist, a craigslist national search, and see whats out there beyond your backyard.... I wish you happy hunting!

Really my dads side of the family is from up around there in Somerset,Stoystown area. We have a house up there i go up there allot and for deer season and stuff.

I almost ran away with a girl back in high school that lived on the other side of the Quemahoning dam.....turned out she was a full-on nut job. Hindsight, 20/20 as they say...

:D

Thanks everyone. I have a qestion though how come it seems like every one of these trucks has allot of rot, i mean i know they are a little old and were offroaded but still. Did Jeep use cheap steel back then or something?

First off , welcome to the end of extra spending cash , say bye bye

These trucks in my opinion , have little to no metal , the worst primer coats and ok to fair factory paint jobs .

Never mind the clear coat , thats worthless . Typical base to clear coat style paint jobs from that time period .

As stated before , very little inner panel protection was offered and there are allot of areas that water and salt can find its way

back in the nooks and folds of the metal . Then , it just sits there , rotting away .

Do like everyone else here does and pull up that carpet , check those inner fender wells and rockers .

Allot of guys here use POR-15 and coat the sh@t out of the under side and floor pans .

:agree: also if you have acess to something that could blast out the frame( high pressue wash truck, or a normal wash truck with a long lance) you might want to try sticking the lance down the framerail and blasting all the crap of of the frame. I'm going to try this with my mj once i get it on the road.
