either way it'll be fun, but even while you're prepping the frame for welding, always be on the lookout for a decent body with a blown engine or trans. It should be dirt cheap and then you can swap over all the good stuff.

and the other problem i checkd my bank account today and ive got $2.90 :wall:

when buying or restoring a vehicle, i try to use the "2 out of 3" rule.... the 3 being interior, exterior/underbody, and drivetrain.... if it doesn't have 2 good things out of those 3 i'll usually pass on it or part it out.... good luck in your endeavors tho!

i would fix it these other guys got nice jeeps to start with.

me and you not so much i had to fab the last 2 feet of frame by hand and by the rear cab mounts tooo . it will be a hell of a project but next time you see a rusty frame or your other mj breaks you won't be like " oooooo my god what will i do now " youll be like " naaaa justs a little problem easy fix"

I went through this with a D50 4X4. I had a super clean D50 2wd sport body sitting on a rotten D50 4X4 frame.

I got on craiglist and drove home a solid D50 4X4 for $150, problem solved

I am not worried about frame repair, i have repaired frames and have built custom frames. But in this case i decided to get another frame.

I could have fixed it but why when a solid frame was so cheap, i look at this truck the same way. what would it cost to just get a solid base to start from?

IMO i would part the truck and build a different one or build one of your better trucks then start looking for a nice 4X4 instead of doing the 4X4 conversion.

the blue ones frame isnt much better but I'm using its parts. also i can't affore to go looking for a new frame/truck now as i have no money. I'm pretty decent at welding and thsi truck has it all there machanically and my other mj has run into roadblocksie its too cold to work on it where it is and i can't move it. so I'm gunna try to fix this one because i thnk its gunna be fun
