Pete M Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 that's a lot of damage for hitting a coon! That's it, I'm putting strong steel bumpers on all my vehicles, even the minivan. :D
freakjeep93 Posted November 30, 2009 Author Posted November 30, 2009 luckly it only appears to be bumper damage. so far
dunl Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Not a lot of people back home east, but we grow EVERYTHING big out there...bears, coons, coyotes. Funny thing.....living out West now, they have coyotes out here the size of red foxes back home. I thought it was a squirrel going across the road the first time I saw one.

jimoshel Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 I hit a 360 lb black bear with the J20.Other than a little bend in the grill , which was already bent, there was no damage. But then there wasn't any plastic in the front either. Tried 3 times to post a pic. Never happened. IMG
Pete M Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Tried 3 times to post a pic. Never happened. do you know what failed? have you read the picture posting thread?
jimoshel Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Yep. Opened the "How to post a photo,or pic, Moved it to one side, opened photo bucket.Followed instructions, I thot. Clicked on IMG.Nothing.Thing is I did upload pics B4. So don't know.
Pete M Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 You need to copy the address of the photo from the photo host site, paste it here, highlight it, then click on the IMG tag above the text box. IT can be tricky the fiorst time, but once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze. :D You can generally (there are some exceptions) right click/copy/paste the address of any image you see online for sharing here. Sometimes the photo is garded, or too big, but usually it works. Just need to surround the address with the IMG tags. like this except without the space inside the first IMG tag: [i mg]http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL91/512063/21041131/344523371.jpg[/img]
mvusse Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 I have seen two vehicles that hit a 1500 pound moose. One was a ford escort.Roof was even with the hood, wheels had broken off, moose walked away. The other one was a cab forward semi towing a loaded log trailer. The grill ended up 6 feet back from the windshield. That one killed the moose, though. Largest road kill I ever seen. I've never hit one, but seen and dealt with plenty in my younger years up north. Stupidest animals I know off. Even less brains than Holstein dairy cattle.
freakjeep93 Posted November 30, 2009 Author Posted November 30, 2009 weve hit a moose or 2 in our time one wiped its nose in the pass side window if out old mj one day.....
Lenard Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 good god people :rotf: all we gota worry about are deer and a occasional cow around here. you can miss these deer here pretty easy if you pat attention. i would hate to hit a moose though, that would hurt. :rotfl2:
JACKED88 Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 My wifes dad took out a buzzard in his pickup one hot summer afternoon. Damn thing went through tha windshield and slattered all over tha back of his extended cab. He tried to clean all tha guts out of it but it still stunk so bad after sittin in tha sun for a few days he traded it in tha following week. I ran over deer with my ATV one night. Apparently its faster than they are. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

mvusse Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Few less deer to worry about on the way to work from now on. Boss' son shot two of them this morning. Boss asked him what he was thinking. Not enough freezer space for 3 deer worth of meat...
mfpdm Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 I've got you all beat. I hit a bat one time. Now before you laugh and say that's not too impressive. If you have ever seen a bat fly you know it has insane agility. They are not easily hit. It bent at least a dozen or so fins on my radiator. :D
