i don't have any pics cause i didn't have a camera with me, but i know...

:needpics:

willy's truck frame, axles, and more or less body with title, no soft spots on frame. body needs some serious attention due to rust, no interior or engine/trans/t-case. asking $500 for it sitting at a junk yard, one of the workers is selling it, but wasn't there today. the guy i asked about it thought the owner would listen to an offer of $100...

You don't need the frame.

I'd be more concerned about a body that's fixable and a title. It has a title, so you're half way there. If nothing else, $100 for a title that isn't a headache is a good deal.

No, you don't NEED a frame, but our SOS office and its stupid rebuilt restrictions make it much easier if you have the original frame.. even if you don't use it.

michigan is a bit easier on the title/frame issues, but i also only have limited fab tools and i don't trust my welder to make a frame, it's only a 120v MIG that's pushing the limits of my garage wiring. i wonder how well i could drop a ZJ 318 drive line in it? i've got a spare one waiting to pick up...willys truck, 318 motor...just sounding more and more tempting.

Anything is better than yet another boring Chevy transplant....

What I know about Willy's pickups:

1) I want one. :D

2) Pack light, because the cab's make MJ's seem roomy.

3) FSJ frames, AMC/Jeep drivetrain slid back about 4" & a CJ radiator dropped in the Willy's grille is a well traveled path in these, and that's perfectly fine with me.

4) This last one might be just my own taste,

but I have yet to see one of these with full width axles, and wide tires that looked 'right'.

Tall skinny tires on Waggy width axles seems to strike the best balance for me.
