RHD question

ok i got the steering situation solved for my MJ(s10 frame and yota steering gear and linkage swappped to the pass side). now my question is, do they sell a factory RHD dash? maybe for the mail XJs? i see 3 or 4 riding around here but i duon if there the ghetto RHD(chain and gears) or true RHD w/ dash n all. fyi steering coulmn bracket will fit perfectly once the spot welds have ben drilled out and re welded to the passenger side ;)

They're out there as RHD was an OEM option. Haven't seen any in the junkyards, but if you call around. www.car-part.com .

Actually, there'sa RHD kit for cherokees. Dunno where you can find it.

I have see postal XJ's around here (mail carriers), but don't you think that this would be a common thing in the J-yard in UK and Australia?

 

Of course, shipping would be a killer on that idea :dunno:

I had a RHD cherokee I parted and junked about three months ago.. if it didnt go the crusher yet.. Ill call the yard tomorrow.

sweeet. all i need is the dash,bezel, and cluster :D i did find a new OEM dash for 80 bux on jeepparts.com or sumthing like that, they just don't have the instruement bezel.

ok i just paid 96 bux shipped for this new OEM RHD dash shell. all i need now is the bezel, maybe the cluster:D

if i can't find a bezel, ill modify my LHD bezel to work :D I'm prob gona run some autometer gauges or sumthin.

The woodgrain is generally found in the 'Country' package of the XJ. Got top dollar for the one I parted out.

eh i only gave like 45 bux shippped for that piece, tis new. i shoulda got the lower panel to sincei think the RHD one is diff than the LHD :doh: o well, ill make one if i got to. i can't wait for it tho, i relocated the hood release to the right side tonite, looks factory :D i wanted just a plain one since I'm prob gona paint it anyways.

got my dash in today! bolted up like factory almost. had to drill new holes on the top by the windshield but thats it! pics will be up tontie.

I forgot that you were the owner of that. Rear frame rails look nice. All this explains the desire for RHD. I thought you just wanted to see the trails from the other side.

haha true, the "trail rig" is my daily to so it doesnt get beat on that much off road.

 

02 fx4 ranger. manaul tcase, 4.0 5 speed w / 4.10 front and rear w/ ls in both :D
