Undo the nut at the Trans. Then loosen it from the retaining clips on the body (if you still have them). Then just take your dash apart and push/pull the cable down through the firewall.

Install it in the opposite order, make sure the Nut is tight on the trans end.

what's highlited in bold is BS. they are identical between auto and 5 speed, or at least interchangeable. if you can get one for an auto, grab it.

the only difference is whether it's a cruise control or non-cruise speedo cable.

The only thing that it would really do is not run up the mileage on the odometer, and not show your land speed..........be a great excuse to get out of a speeding ticket......like " I don't know how fast I'm going " :dunno:

:brows:

Here, I brought up the page, try this-

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carco ... ttype,1440

Nope Will not work I was just about to complete my order from rock auto on this and  Bam An idea I called rock auto with some questions. Dude said its for a rwd only and will not work on a 4wd.......... :headpop: :wall:

Thanks for helping me look though

As for you Do you have any productive ideas??? :dunno: The problem I'm having is that every speedo cable I have found does not have the right fitting for the back of the gage......Its not a screw typ fitting its a snap on plastic fitting.....Also the cable off my MJ is 78" long ............Sort af an odd ball..........And its a cancled part from JEEP......... :fs1:

Any help would be great or if anyone has one lying around they want to get rid of would be even better... image_209027.gif

Thanks again :waving:

:fs1: :headpop: soapbox.gif  Still no luck in my searching ............... :ack: :shake:

I have the same problem and am thinking about making my own clip or just some other way to hold it on.

Half of an alligator clip secured to the cable with a special notch to fit the speedo is the current idea.

I wish I still had that option......When I called napa they said "Oh yeah we have that in stock just come pick it up" So I decided to remove the speedo cable from the truck to bring it in to make sure they were giving me the right one, and to show them the right one so I didn't look like an idiot when I told them it was wrong.........anyway in the process of removing it the white plastic portion seperated from the cable :headpop: so yea now it completly worthless I really need some :help:
