thedave360 Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 So yesterday before work, I was out doing a little Jeeping. I'm driving up to a loading site for tractors in the middle of a sugar cane field. As I am a long way off I see what I believe to be a small child standing in the middle of the loading site. When I got closer, I realized it was a huge bald eagle eating a dead opossum As I drove closer, it looked at me grabbed his opossum and flew about 30 feet, dropped it and continued eating. He let me get pretty close, but as soon as I tried to grab my camera...he flew off into the trees near by. :fs1: That was pretty damn cool.
Throttle_Jockey Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 I work in Morgan City and we have a nest with two of them roosted there I'll try to get some pics this hitch
HOrnbrod Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 I have a pair of fish eagles (Ospreys) that have been nesting and raising their young in a nest on top of a big pine tree on the island out back for about ten years now. There's also a family of blue herons in the next tree that have been there even longer. Love watching them catching fish in the lake. They catch more fish than I do..... :D Image Not Found
