WahooSteeler Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 How do you embed a video from YouTube or similar on here? :dunno: :wall:
Pete M Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 I've been told that it's simply not possible. phpbb doesn't support it yet. Maybe with the next update though. :D
mvusse Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 http://www.jeepskool.com/board/index.php runs phpBB, and it supports embedded Youtube video using the tags.
Pete M Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Interesting. I'll let our techie know about that...
WahooSteeler Posted March 31, 2009 Author Posted March 31, 2009 I should have clarified I wasn't sure if that was the right term. Pete you said it doesn't work but I see video clips within a thread all the time here? :dunno: Are they ALL not from YouTube but from some other type of format? This is where my computer skillz just get overwhelmed. :wall:
Pete M Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 My computer skills were overwhelmed long ago. Send a PM to Qui Gon-Jinn as he's the unofficial official techie in the club.
BLHTAZ Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I have asked him long ago about it. He posted in the "problems & ideas" forum that he was working on it, but then all of his troubles started with the gout and I haven't really heard much from him since. phpbb does support it as our webmaster on the site I Admin has installed it for us there.

I think I posted a link on how to set it up...
Qui Gon-Jinn Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 as time permits I will get this going more info here: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=375183
gogmorgo Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Just copy the url of a youtube video and paste it into the reply box. Should do the above. Your browser may try to paste the url in as a link, and if it does, just select the address in the reply box and hit the "unlink" button (looks like a breaking link in a chain, between the "link" and "image" buttons in the bottom row)
Oyaji Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Just copy the url of a youtube video and paste it into the reply box. Should do the above. Not working for me - I tried using the "Link" and "Image" options as well as just pasting the URL into the body of the message, like so: . What am I doing wrong? Using the full editor? . edit: well, it just worked here, but it didn't work a minute ago when I tried to edit a post - what gives? . second edit ; I think I figured it out - the editor doesn't like the stupid periods it makes me add just to get line spacing between paragraphs (for that matter, if I don't first type a period and then back up and start typing to the left of it, I don't even get spaces between WORDS, no matter how many times I press the spacebar). . It's working now - thanks!
