88XJSport
Has anybody ever bought one from these guys? Hows the quality? For 35 bucks it sounds like a good deal.
BLHTAZ
Most everyone I know never replaces them when they fall out. I have seen a few conversations on here about them, but the consensus seems to be that they are useless and not worth spending the money on. 88XJSport
I figured it would be cleaner and faster to add one instead of trying to sand/paint the surface rust thats starting to show...

88XJSport
Does it come with some sort of attaching screws? Do you have a pic of yours?
HOrnbrod
I like hood pads. They keep the hood cooler and insulate engine noise. I haven't tried the TeamCherokee version, but the older pads (up to 96 I believe) are too thick (1/2"+) and do not seem to last that long. If you ever have to take them off (like for hood vents), they disintegrate. I found a NOS pad on Ebay for the 1997 and up XJs, and it's a lot thinner, about 1/4", and is molded to the hood, not just a layered rug. Seems to insulate better too. Â And you can get the 1/4" push pins at Lowes for a whole lot less than TeamCherokee charges. :D
88XJSport
Wow the 97+ sounds nicer. I may have to keep my eye out at the JY now for one. Thanks for the push-pin tip also.
88XJSport
I got the Team Cherokee insulation. Doesn't fit that well and doesn't do anything for sound reduction or cooling/heating. Â Got one on mine. It fits pretty good. Â :redX:

flint54
The correct retaining clips are available by the gazillions at the JY, need 12 or 13 as I recall, and takes a bit of practice to remove them with a small flat screwdriver without wrecking them. Their wide wings hold better than the round push-pin type fastener, I think.
Limeyjeeper
Ok it doesn't fit PERFECTLY but it is not a total disaster. All the holes don't line up exactly so yes it doesn't fit that well but it is not like you can't make it work. geez
