Wildman
Are you driving thru the "Black hole"???? Could be a problem with your voltage regulator. When you punch it, your pulling extra electrical power out of the battery, and it's shutting everything down......how old or what condition is your battery in??? Could be as simple as the battery cables being old and corroded too.

J B Cuz
On older trucks the regulator is built into the case of the alternator. Specifically the Delco design. On newer trucks the with the ND alt the regulator is built into the PCM. J B Cuz
