no hot air coming from heater

Recommended Posts

Yup, I would definitely start there and see what happens.

Could also be a clogged heater core or a faulty vacuum valve (the one that switches to allow coolant to flow through the heater core). Did this all happen suddenly? Or did it slowly get worse?

running at the quarter mark and 210 is the middle once in a while it will hit almost 210 but then drops i need a new overflow bottle mine spits coolant everywhere but there impossible to find!

What year MJ? If it's a 1990 or older, that isn't an "overflow" bottle, it's a surge tank and it's part of the cooling system. If it leaks, the coolant level goes down, and when the coolant level goes down there isn't enough coolant to run through the heater core.

Quadratec in Pennsylvania sells the old style coolant bottles, if that's what you need.

i know its the closed system i priced out a bottle here they want 114 for it which i think is expensive so i just fill it up every day or so

Well, that bottle is NOT an "overflow" bottle. It is part of the pressurized system, so if it's cracked, there's a major part of your problem.

Flushing the radiator is not the same as flushing the heater core. In fact whoever flushed the rad could have caused the core to plug up with crap from the block. Or maybe the cable to the blend door popped off if it happened all of a sudden. Can you hear the door hit the stop when you move it full cold to full hot?
