Pete M Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Saw it in the junkyard on what was obviously a work truck.
ORCA Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 What exactly are we looking at here? Looks like it to a bath in the ocean for a few years...
feerocknok Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Saw it in the junkyard on what was obviously a work truck. That's awesome!!!!
DirtyComanche Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Any chance the truck had heavy front end damage? Stupid fords.
pingpong Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Just buiy looking at the size of the u-joints.. I am going to guess D44  am I right
Pete M Posted July 25, 2006 Author Posted July 25, 2006 8-lug Dana 44. Nope, no frontend damage that I remember. Might have seen it's last days tooling around a jobsite or j-yard I guess.
pingpong Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Well I hope you are not going to buy it.... it needs way more work then it is worth. YOu have to figure on Ball joints, new hubs, and rotors, bearinga and seals, plus u-joints, and possibly gears cause if the outside looks that rough.. the inside probrably isnt much better. A complete d44 8 lug normally goes for 5-700 depending on how useable it is out the box. BTW a D60 is around 1000-1250 shipped from high honda
Pete M Posted July 26, 2006 Author Posted July 26, 2006 Oh I was never going to buy it. I just brought the camera along to snap pics for Brett of XJ/MJ doors if I spied any good ones. I think I might bring the camera every time from now on. :D
JOMJ87 Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Its always good to keep a camera handy at all times. I even has one that stays in the MJ for emergency photot opartunitys. :brows:
DirtyComanche Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Strange looking outer C and knuckle. It's ford TTB axle. That's why I said "Bloody Fords" earlier. They aren't worth anything, other than you can steal the hubs for other D44s and you can easily remove the centre section with the gears in it to extract them later.
