Who has done shock mount relocating in the rear upper mounts?

Need to tilt mine in for better working ability. I know someone has done this, can't find the thread, who was it?

Something like the JKS setup conversion, just need to be homebrew as funds are low from other upgrades. If any one perhaps has some ideas let me know.

Uhm... they are already tilted "in" on your XJ...

It's much easier to do on the MJ's since it's a rear frame. On the XJ's you need something that ties into the factory mounting location or the rear seatbelt bolts like the Cross Enterprises one does.

That would I guess, but think I should just wait and buy the JKS set up from MOtion and call it a day. Other wise if I could weld I'd be all over it. IDK what I was thinking really maybe it was the MJ build up one I was, but I think I may need to just wait and deal with it in the mean time. Oh the fun of it!

Thanks for the links and thoughts you all.

It required having the bed off but I built and welded in a crossmsmber right above the rear axle on mine and that left plenty of room to mount the shocks off of.

I made mine out of some scrap steel and bolted it up through the bed. Nothing fancy but it works. :D

that might be what I may have to do. :hmm: Is there any reason behind shocks mounted up side down or does it not matter?

On a hydro shock you want the body of the shock on the bottom. On a nitro shock it does not matter as much. Ultimately I'd do what the manufacture recommends.
