:agree:

I saw that and just laughed after reading his write up.

My hobby, for some time, has been the collection and restoration of Jeep Comanche 4 x 4 Pickups.

If that was true, he would know what the real value of it was and would also be a member here.

They tore down and rebuilt the V-6 Motor, the Automatic Transmission, the Transfer Case, both Front and Rear Axles - replacing All Bearings Inside and Out, New Brakes, New Brake Drums where needed.

Why did he waste the money? Polished a turd.

The factory clock works well

That's it, I'm shelling out the dough to buy it. :rotfl2:

The truck has Factory Air Conditioning, it works very well (might need a recharge of freon).

That means it turns on but doesn't get cold.

The Carpet inside the vehicle shows very little sign of wear, it has no holes, nor tears, nor any signs of extensive wear.

However if you pulled it up, you would probably find a rusted floor board.

It was repainted in July 2008 to factory specifications

That's a Maaco paint job with the Maaco signature pinstripes down the side. If it was a good paint job, you would be able to see the reflections in the paint a whole lot better and it would be shiny. Not to mention the dents you can clearly see.

The doors, both sides, are due for an alignment by a good body shop; the truck is very TIGHT, REPEAT, VERY TIGHT AND QUIET, but I have noticed that some water may enter when sprayed from the side of the truck under high pressure. I have learned in working with these Jeeps that this is a sign of a needed alignment.

This is also a sign of maybe being wreck before or the hinges need replaced. With the cracked and missing pieces of the window weather stripes, I'd refer back up to the pulling the carpet idea.

Two weeks ago I sprayed cold water on the windshield on a very warm day when I was cleaning the truck, the lower driver's side of the windshield has a very small crack in it.

I call BS on this one. What, was it 100+ degrees a couple of weeks ago. I think not.

Pickup Is AS GOOD AS NEW, OR BETTER.

Not even close. I'm sure from the factory they came with holes in the vinyl door trim, interior lights hanging out, paint removed from the steering column, dents, etc, etc...

The reserve has been lowered $1000.00 to $6,500.00 (it was at $7,500.00), I have more than $12,000.00 invested in this truck.

Better keep lowering. Blue Book is still only between $1000-2000 in great condition. And I surely wouldn't admit to investing $12K on it, because you got ripped off.

Now don't get me wrong, it's a nice MJ, but I'm really getting tired of BS.

mfpdm,

When I saw this I knew this would be salt in your wound, because Ive seen the kind of work you do. That was the funniest post in a long time. Funny because its true.

I'm starting to breath better now since I got that of my chest. :D

I think the thing that really got me about it was him saying he had 12K invested.

We've got probably about $8K in ours right now, with another $2-3 to go. I know alot of his is labor but from the looks, they didn't labor to hard.

Sorry if I upset anyone with my rant.

AND! his grill is in upside down

I can't believe I missed that one. I guess I was to blinded by the little things.

That even makes this statement more ridiculous.

Wow!

Now that one can claim, "Pickup Is AS GOOD AS NEW, OR BETTER".

That has to be the cleanest one I've ever seen. It has been fully restored. They just left off the modified part.

That could bring the $8K the other guy wanted. That paint job alone would run you about $4K or better and was not done by Maaco. His asking price, though high, is what it would take to make one that nice. If they came that way out of the factory in 1986, that's how it would of look.

It wouldn't surprise me too much if he got real close to his asking price. Someone that doesn't want to do all the work but have a nice MJ will put out for it.

Anyone close to that thing that can do a drive by and get the story behind it.
