ComancheKid45
I know ive seen a few trucks with the front valence removed, mainly when an aftermarket bumper is added. My question is can or will this cause any overheating problems with obstructing the airflow on our trucks. I'm thinking of cutting my front flares at the Front bumper and removing that valence. I just want to make sure it wouldent cause any major problems with highway trips and so forth. Thanks! here's a picture of what I'm talking about, thanks to "Reason46" for this pic and idea
wolfpackjeeper
With a lift and larger tires the effect is minimal. With a lowered or stock truck though, you can see gains in MPG by keeping it. I am actually going to add another from a GMC under mine. It deflects air from going under the truck and helps a bit with the drag there. Dr. Dyno did a few experiments a while ago and came up with I think about 4mpg over stock by adding a longer one.
ComancheKid45
Alright I have 1.5" and 30x9.50 tires on 4.75" bs wheels.......would it be wise for me to keep it then?
702_MJ
I think its up to you. I did the same thing and I'm running basicly what you got 1.5" except with 31x10s. Image Not Found Cut my fenders hella dumb though. Gonna get bushwackers anyway so don't care. Its your choice though, i find it purely cosmetic. It would help keep the wind drag kinda down, but if you plan on lifting it and throwing a set of 33's under it like i do then just cut it off, once you get that high I'm sure the air dam/spoiler doesnt help much. Your preference basically.

Pete M
The offroad package included the skidplate package, but the skidplate package was available separate. (I'm looking at the 88 dealership brochure, other years may be slightly different)

Shane
It is as simple as what you like? If you are going to cut the fenders and add bigger tires then I would say go for it on the other hand. I you don't mind it or if it isnt in the way why bother it.

702_MJ
HIJACK; 702_MJ how about some info & specs on the red MJ in your sig Ok well i went to mopars at the strip in my truck in vegas thinking i was the only jeep truck thats gonna be there. i was wrong, the red jeep was racing in the truck class. I took a few pics of it. but i can't seem to find them. I never could find the guy when he wasnt racing. Then i went to the track to watch for 5 mins come back and the whole camp he was at was gone, never got to talk to him. He will most likely to be there this year. But it was 2wd definitely a new rear end had a 3rd member so i though like a 8 3/4 out of an a body mopar but could be wrong, tubed out, fat slicks, gutted, only a driver seat, auto, and i thought it was running a smallblock chrysler. But some guy corrected me on the forum saying it was an amc 304, i asked if he knew who owned it or if he owned it but he never got back to me. It ran mid 13's.
