ZJrebel Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I'm new to the MJ scene but not to Jeeps. I was wondering if I put some 4" front TJ springs in if it would lift it the 4" or not. I have lower control arms as well. This will be going on a 91 longbed 4.0 MJ if that makes a difference.
mjeff87 Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I'm running 5.5 TJ coils on mine, gave me about 4.5". Jeff edit: Image Not Found

mjeff87 Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Here's how it's sitting now, on 35's (don't want to hijack the OP's thread here). RE adjustable uppers, Rusty's (I think) fixed LCA's.....I'm going longarms here in the near future, the shortarms are functional but pretty rough riding, and the LCA's are limiting droop. CWLONGSHOT Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 The RUSTYS kit is problems with many JUNK parts. Not to mention you DO NOT need 9" to fit a 35" tire on a MJ. Juducious trimming and 5+-" will do it. CW
mvusse Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 9" may look nice in a mall parking lot. But any off camber trail would put you on your side.

pingpong Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 9" of lift I think you could clear 38's or 40's with good bumpstopping.
Impact Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 obviuosly asking about the rustys 9" kit was a bad idea...lol
jeepaholic Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 this is 12" or so of lift on 36's..no trimmin...but all custom...don't go rusty's..i tried em...twice..bad experience both times. Image Not Found

Do you have any other pictures? mud? interior? What kind of problems did you have with the rusty's kit? What kit did you order from them? Do you have any pictures of your suspension build? What axles are you using?
BLHTAZ Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Rusty's is a company that nearly everyone on here will tell you to stay away from. They have had many quality issues as well as poor customer service. I have never dealt with them personally because I have to friends that did and they both went through hell dealing with issues with bad springs and no one wanted to help them :shake: .
