jeepaholic Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I have found a MJ that has Chrysler 8.25 rear and dana30 front. 3:55 gears..Anybody ran this set up? Wondering if it is worth a darn.

87manche Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 92 will be the weaker 27 spline variant. It can be made 29 spline with new shafts and carrier. So if you order a detroit or something for it go 29 spline and get shafts to match. There were 3 trans behind the 4.0 All autos are AW4's Early 4.0 87 to mid 89'ish were BA-10/5's. These have a case split from front to back. from mid 89 until the end of production it was the AX-15 5Spd, these are put together with an intermediate plate, and don't have a big seam running front to back. The AX-15 is a much better trans.

Cole Hold the phone...Uhh i just got my hands on a set of Goodyear Wrangler M/T's 36's..0miles yes 0miles...for free :banana: So if they will fit under there w/o rubbing baby got a new pair of shoes :banana:

DirtyComanche Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 They'll fit, just you'll need to use a wheel with a low BS (3.5" or less) if you want to be able to turn.
JOMJ87 Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 If You have stock 30/35 axles you may want to get some spare shafts for the rear and stronger u-joints for the front. You also want to beef up the steering cause ive seen the arms bend in half and the box rip off the frame with 36s on a XJ And ive heard of this happening several times to people. Cole

JOMJ87 Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 With 7 inches i fit 35s but i couldnt turn or flex to much. I did alittle cutting :D and everything turned out great so 36s will probaly need the same amount of cutting and around 8.5" or more of lift. Cole
pingpong Posted June 30, 2006 Posted June 30, 2006 Just remove more metal and getting less back spacing on your rims :brows: I am going to ruin 37's on Pong here soon... with no more hieght added. In fact I might lower Pong an inch or 2 :nanner:
