xj_dummy Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 I need a place to sit my drink, but I didnt want any plastic, clumbsy cupholder. Also I wanted to make it look like it was supose to be there. So I made one out of plywood and used stainless machine screws and nuts with washers to give it some bling. Image Not Found Image Not Found When it came time to paint it. I went with my armrest from my MJ to homedepot, and Lowes and I couldnt find the color. So I went to Shermain Williams paint center and they matched the color. Image Not Found Image Not Found

BLHTAZ Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 If you took pics throught the process, you should write a "DIY" article and post it in the DIY forum

WahooSteeler Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 very simple + very effective = VERY nice Nice touch on the paint matching.
maddzz1 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Very nice job. Everytime I hit the brakes I have to try and remember to grab my drink first.
deziped Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Looks neat & prof. . Hope you had the seat all the way forward when you measured. I didn't when I put one together so I had to take it apart and whack it some with the band saw so the wife could slide the seat up to reach the peddles.

That seat will never :smart: go forward and my wife can reach the pedals.
xj_dummy Posted November 13, 2008 Author Posted November 13, 2008 specs please or send copy of shape and size Um, do you have a bench seat? And my seat is all the way back so its a wedge fit so no screws to mount it needed. If you still want the specs, let me know.
xj_dummy Posted November 13, 2008 Author Posted November 13, 2008 And thank you everyone for your kind words.
daking Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Very Nice. Would you be willing to make another? I’m not real good with wood, and I don’t have time to build. I’ll pay whatever you want, reasonable of course. $20, $40, $50? I’ll PayPal it first.
Qui Gon-Jinn Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I wanted to make one.. but.. time.. and work.. and the wife being sick.. has thrown that out.. I went to Autozone yesterday for wiper blades for the yearly rain here in Phoenix and found the $10 solution. Not as pretty.. but works.. MFG is "Hoppy" it's the "Spillmaster Twin" fits RIGHT in the space between the seat and the console.. and holds my 44oz Whataburger cup very nicely. mine was $9.99 Just my $.02.. And don't drink and drive.. you'll spill your beer..
