Let me just add that I absolutely love this Comanche. I was looking for an S-10 project car for a while, until I came across this awesome one of a kind truck. pingpong
I don't know how to post pics  but if someone wants to post pics, I can give pics all the way back to when my rig was stock till now. I represeent the fringe of the MJ guys though :brows: The only thing on my rig that is still Jeep is the drivetrain, and what is left of the body

whowey
BTW - how do you identify HD rear axles? "metric tonne package"? Yes, also you can from the VIN code. Position 8, will be a letter rather than a number to identify it as a Metric Tonne. But, you could also order the HD axle under the truck without getting the Metric Tonne. In that case, stick your head underneath. If it looks like a bowling ball, its an AMC 20. Look at where the axle tubes come out of the center section. If you follow the edge of the center section up towards the top, DANA put a number on it to identify the axle. A 35C will be cast into Dana 35's and a 44 will be cast into Dana 44's. urbanMJ
8th digit of vin = "L" diff cover is that second one. sweet, I have a Dana 35 what does this mean though? lol. I have no idea what I have in my hands, is it a locker? how much is it worth? I'm planning on replacing the entire rear end with an axle with 4 trailing arms and a watts linkage. So I may want to sell it to offset the costs. I got this jeep for $500. btw
Stumpy
8th digit should be the engine size....which is the 4.0L I6.
Oizarod115
don't think theres much of a market for selling a 35 to offset those costs. maybe someone will pick it up... of course thats if you pay them gas money ;)
whowey
8th digit should be the engine size....which is the 4.0L I6. Yes, on a GM. No, on a Comanche. 4th digit is the engine. M is the 4.0l
