sinnaevd
Are MJ's rare with factory floor auto shift(not on column)? Or is that just impossible? Because the guy I got mine off of, has 3, all long boxes
pingpong
If some one has 3 of them.. they can't be but so rare :shake:
sinnaevd
I guess my question should have been, do they come stock like that? was that an option?
Catatonic Comanche
Are MJ's rare with factory floor auto shift(not on column)? Or is that just impossible? My 92 SWB MJ Eliminator has all that, i.e., AT shifter on the floor with full console. I cannot vouch for the older years, but here is how it worked in 1992 (last year produced) for 2WD & 4WD MJ modals: MJ Style-----------------Console Type-----Optional/Standard/Not Available ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Base----------------------Mini Only---------------------Standard Sport SWB/LWB---------Mini Only---------------------Standard Pioneer SWB/LWB-------Mini/Full----------------------Standard/Optional Eliminator SWB Only----Full Only----------------------Standard
partsmj
1988 Comanche, 4.0, 231. Column shift, bench seat, navy interior. We sold it new, has 285,000+, repaint with the pioneer stripes. I think it is baltic blue. The new owner is thinking three inch lift and 31's. Very nice Comanche.
Eagle
My friend just picked up an '88 MJ SWB Chief with bucket seats and the floor shift. They were available.
Bounty Hunter
Are MJ's rare with factory floor auto shift(not on column)? Or is that just impossible? Because the guy I got mine off of, has 3, all long boxes I thought all MJ autos were floor shift, my '88 is. I've only seen the column shift in police package XJ's. pingpong
Mine is a 90 with a column shift  It had the pioneer package
Catatonic Comanche
Mine is a 90 with a column shift. It had the pioneer package Amen on that pingpong! Actually from what I have seen over all the MJ years of existance, the AT shifter on the column was much more popular than finding it on the floor. I have witnessed many more AT column-shifts with bench seats than AT floor shifts. It would appear that the AT floor shift was just Jeep's way of being sporty!
hemi_comanche
my 86 longbed automatic 2wd has a floorshift and the factory plastic console So basically from all this I don't beleive it is all that rare.

Pete M
I don't own a single auto MJ, but I have a column-shift assembly out of (I believe) a 90 Pioneer.
sinnaevd
mostly because I want to change the 5 sod I just picked up over to an auto, but I want to keep the floor shift because I like the looks better. Need auto so my GF can drive it as well. when I redo the long box, I will get the floor shift with buckets as well, but it will end up being 5 spd prolly
