  1. i'm a bit of a nub and I've seen it in a bunch of people signatures and have always wondered......
  2. wow that actually looks sick with everything cut off, almost like a larger old army jeep. I bet it has no structural integrity whatsoever with everything cut off but nothing a roll bar and some reinforcing wouldn't cure. Could make a sick buggy like rig :chillin:
  3. I gotta find me a 30-odd-6 pen!
  4. hmmm, how will I tell if the D35 I find will have 3.55? I got a 90amp MIG so putting on new perches shouldn't to difficult. But yah never opened up a diff except to change the fluid before so for my interests I guess I'd stay away from regearing. Axel swap doesn't seen like that bad of a choice either.... + I have acess to a hoist and all equipment at my school. What about Axle width? are all D35's the same?
  5. Love the terminology there dave
  6. No clue on the gearing, 5 spd 2wd with P225/75.... It aint a wheeler yet, just my dd rig. Hopefully depending on what I do for school when I graduate next year I'll be able to throw some time and money into 4x4 convert and lift/tires. But for now its street only. Back to topic- I'm really thinking of pulling the whole injection system and either refurbing it or put in a new rail, put in the H.O injectors etc, It also has a hell of a time starting so there could be some fuel restriction, I dunno, changed the filter but didn't change anything. Not to mention a new painted rail with braided fuel lines and race fittings etc. would look killer
  7. yah only really need the clutch for starting and backing up.. to heck with it :chillin:
  8. How about injectors from the 4.0 HO, do they plug into the renix system ok? would they give any more power
  9. wow lots of responses over the night, yah I've see the TB spacers before but there all like 60 bucks at the cheapest i've found, I dunno where you found one for 26 bucks. Also, anybody bored out a throttle body before? or do they sell oversive throttle bodies..... hmmm maybe I could jury rig a larger throttle body off of some newer junker V8
  10. Just wondering what kind of quick jobs that could be done to get a little more pep out of the 4.0. Specifically I was wondering if I were to get the injectors out of a H.O and swapped them in would that do something?- maybe paired up with a in-line fuel pump? I've opened up the exhaust and am gunna do intake soon. Does anybody make performance intake manifolds for 4.0? I don't really wanna get into cams or valves though 'cause its my DD and I don't wanna take it out of commision for more than a day.
  11. Back to the muffler - go to partsource, pick up a Cherry Bomb bright red straight through for $30, clamp it directly to the cat and put a little turndown on the other end, sounds amazing, is cheap, don't need any custom pieces or tig welders, just muffler clamps and exhaust cement. 8)
  12. btw, can anybody tell me where the horn is? I wanna swap in an air horn
  13. mine were just as bad on the passenger side, just cut to good metal, get some cardboard and a sharpie for templates. Good o'l 24 guage will do the trick, cut them and hammer them to fit.
  14. Backhand corners, behind the trim. They are masked to look like vents... clever clever chrysler
  15. 4x6's are stock in the rear... just upgrade the deck and door speakers and you should get better sound
  16. Hey just a quick question from before the lift- Where'd you get those spacers from? My 2wd could use a slightly better stance than stock but it'd be pointless to invest in a proper lift.
  17. grey or black bench cover, you ship up north?
  18. I'm not too sure, I just mooched from my dads cabinet, i think the can was probly a decade old, i'll google it see if they still make it.
  19. If you need penetrating lube (u say now its mechanical but w/e) use PlusGas, It works amazing, I've used it to release seized coil springs, and my seats bolts that were rust-welded to the floor.
  20. Sorry Pete, I'm still learing about ic posting, gotta figure out how to shrink
  21. I'm Using a 90amp Cannox Firefly MIG with Flux Core wire, I was too cheap to buy gas and its my dad's welder, he doesn't use it. I find its working perfect for my floorpans. I'm putting in 24guage and it is tricky to control the heat, sometimes theres not enough when its spitting and kicking and at other times it will burn right through. You just have to play around with the voltage setting. The welds are impossible to make look good, but for welding on the cheap and to just put in floor pans in MIG with Flux Core is pretty resonable. Oh and I havn't tripped on breaker yet 8)
  22. Ok, took a while to figure out pic posting but here it goes. Just bought it, drove it home from Guelph for $1800 (CAN), 206 000km on the odo Snows melted, Dad gave me the garage for as long as I need it. So far have bought replacement shocks, coils springs, exhaust pipe and muffler, re-sealed the rear Diff cover cause it was leaking and put in that mint new radiator. All parts are OEM replacement because I have connections that get my 50-60% off OEM parts from CANUSA. Ex: that rad cost me $87 + tax. Old Interior New Interior (Before Pic) Current Project, I have about 5 panels like this, they're all ground and cleaned. Two have been welded in and this weekennd I'll start on the third (Mid-way Pic) So right now my goal is to complete everything that will get the truck safetied ie: floors, by mid-July, than in the Fall I'll think about taking it off the road again for a bit to do the fun stuff like converting to 4WD, 3.5 lift and some 31.5's or 33's.
  23. I'll put some pics up later tonight, i'll include the pics of the floor pans i'm welding in right now if anybody wants to see how I'm doing those. Pat, If I do find and entire 5spd 4X4 cherokee, would all the linkages and shifter handle positions be the same in the manches? and if I can't find a 5spd cherokee, how much work/money would it be to change the output shaft on the tranny?
  24. My 90' comanche takes about 16 turns to start no matter what temp, I don't really worry about it because I know it always starts everytime, no stuttering, no spitting..... just takes its time
  25. Hey guys, just joined. I'm 16 and bought my first rig a couple of months ago. As far as insurance goes and gas prices for a 16 year old go (if any of you can remember that far back) 4x4's are pricy and 2WD works pretty good around town. But I was talking to JeepcoMJ on facebook about a conversion... if I can get convince my shop teacher to let me use his shop for a week next semester I would like to be able to have 4WD for the winter, (and I can obviously just switch to 2WD with the T-case to save gas) So as far as I know i'm gunna need to buy a wrecked cherokee and pull out the front axel, T-case, front drive shaft, shorten my rear driveshaft/buy new one, remove tranny spacer etc. Jeepco metioned spline problems with the 2WD transmission and the T-case. Would like some help in planning this out and seeing if i'll be able to do this. Thanks
