LOL case and point. Well taxes are comin i think uncle sam owes me something for workin at that damn lube shop. It looks too damn good!!!! Ill take the money out of my flexalite fan fund and dump it into my kool hood fund that does the fans job, thats a few extra dollars! Finaly figured out how to hook my aux fan to a switch anyway, so the extra +200 bucks for the flexalite fan can go to the hood. For that freight charge imagine the TNT long arm kit i want, HAHAHAHAHA I'm SCREWED..............i despise this hunk of rock. Thanks for helping me make my mind up. Thing looks mean johnnyc that 97'+ front end sets it off nice and the hood makes it even better.

ok probly another dumb question. but my interior lights don't hang any more. Any suggestions to hang them back in there? Kinda like not permanently but secure enough because i know I'm gonna take the plastics off again. Thanks in advance.

yeah i found who makes it too. Reflexxion automotive, if anyone cares. I think my idea still stands with the hood, just gotta find new hardware since my dad welded them on when he owned the truck. Plus i saw a comanche that was a spittn image of mine just with the cowl induction hood and it was a metalic sky blue. Man once i saw that i had to have one. Yeah I'm sure i could sell it or keep it around and save for another project :brows:. Thanks again guys.

Broken Battery Hold-down?
702_MJ replied to Phoenix of Fury's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Mine looks like its held together with liquid nail in about 12 places. Ive been looking but i guess not hard enough, I'm sure somebody has a good suggestion. -
Well where did you buy it? How does it cool the engine idling, on the trail, in traffic and what not. I'm in hawaii so thats what I'm taking into account, either i find a dealer for that hood and buy it or purchase it off the internet $400 plus the added hundred for freight and what ever other costs and the wait time. So I'm looking at $500+ and weeks to months depending on the shipping. Then i could buy the vents. For $60+ from genright, $160 from race ace or scout out some lebarons. But i want to put a bored throttle body and 1"spacer. As of now theres barely enough room for my k&n intake, the part that attaches to the throttle body rubs the hood supports. Thats one of the main reasons i wanted the cowl induction. But if a bored throttle body is as good as a spacer then ill just get a bored TB and some vents. And i won't have a spare hood lying around rusting under my house.
-
I was considering those too. And from the looks of it i don't think its over the throttle body or tps, if i run into a set ill throw those on. And another reason i was considering the cowl induction is cuz it would make room for a throttle body spacer. But which works better a spacer or a bored throttle body? Those vents on the pic that wolf pack posted look good, but they arent flush with the hood. I'm sure that could be fixed. Maybe ill get a set of lebarons, and some genrights up front like that. But then i would have to make a rain diverter for the one over my intake. The whole idea is still up in the air.

Interior turn signal lights come on when braking?

DOT requirement. Kinda dumb if thats what it is cuz all this time i thought it was broken. Thanks for the help ill try get to it sometime. -
I think I'm gonna go with some vents right now. But man that cherokee on that page with the cowl induction look hella SWEET! Thanks guys.

LOL just wonderin cuz theres times it will sit for days in the rain, under some trees i don't get the garage :fs1: I wasnt worried about truckn through rivers and stuff cuz usually water will boil off cuz its hot and you make that little bow wave thing. Any way just wondering when it sits, will water get in and eventually cause rust, short wires, or anything like that? My truck is not a fan of water, at all. Alternator went bad after mudding( dirty water), tps went bad after washing the engine grease  my idiotics listening to a friend. Mudd i can handle, but when the dry lake fills up outside of boulder city nv with water and i tried wheeling with a ram and a bronco on 37's through it, didnt work out. Fell into a 4' deep whole she trucked along but later that night the truck just shut off. Not a good experience. If theres no problems which would you suggest. I'm partial to the 9x14's in black but for $160 i better see my temp gauge stay in one place when i sit in traffic.

i have been looking at hoods, mostly that cowl induction one from quadratec, but the price is kinda out there especially being in hawaii. But found some louvers instead and it would be a waste to toss out a perfectly good hood( and the hardware is welded on). But then also it rains here ALOT, would alot of water get in the louvers when its parked? Since they will probly be in the usual place you see the lebaron conversion. Ive already had my TPS wet and that wasnt fun. So if you have had any experience with either please throw in your 2 cents. Thanks in advance. here's the louvers I'm looking at. http://www.raceace.com/products.html#productsside the 9x14 gloss black or http://www.genright.com/ProductInfo.asp ... id=LVR1005

Interior turn signal lights come on when braking?
702_MJ replied to mknherhappy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
:hijack: Ok since we are on the topic of grounding out brake lights and turnsignals. My problem is when i turn the right signal on and hit the brake it stops completely, same with my hazzards. Could this be the same problem, ive been meaning to do some process of elimination but havent gotten around to it. Thanks -
ba10/5 to ax15 OR aw4 swap info
702_MJ replied to JeepcoMJ's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
Nice simple write up, now what would you need to go the opposite way. I want my aw4 to be a nv3550. -
First of all everything you said CW makes sense, but see i have all that. Air intake, Chipped it to adjust the air to fuel ratio and what not, and now a free flowing exhaust and theres alot more to come. Yes your right jeeps are not fast, but with those mods on the result ive found is acceleration. I can get to highway speeds without putting my foot into it. Any you build it your way ill build it mine. We all have different opinions on what and what not to do.

LOL i know what you mean. Everyone rushes in and the massacre starts. Then you get those guys who run there mouth. They get real lucky they're in some other part of the country when they talk. :shake: Me I'm a sticker, give me some grenades and theyre gonna be used. Set some traps with the spike grenades, stick some dude in the head with the sticky, and start bouncing the frags off walls. They get all confused and pissed off.Or you use guerrilla tactics and confuse the crap out of them. LOL but it does get old.

yeah that was the map back then. Now when you go on live all you meet is nerds with no lives an just kick the crap outta you.

exhaust pipe hitting xmember
702_MJ replied to james750's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
the trans mount is by the cat, its a bushing that holds a hanger that's attached to the cat. If its worn the exhaust starts to sag and hit the cross member. Unless there's another one i don't know of. -
They don't got blood gulch any more.
-
never used a glass pack before. The only thing i would use straight pipe on is a diesel, my friends dad had a 2002 cummins 5.9 ram straight pipe, and like i think 5.5" or 6" from where the muffler was supposed to be. Man that thing was a BEAST!!!!! You could hear it from about 5miles away and it poured smoke like a damn train!
-
why glass packs? everyone uses glass packs, Isnt a glass pack basicly just straight through with like some fiberglass lining or something.
-
Yeah there was a loss of power when i ran open cat (no pipe after the cat) for a few days. But once i put the new exhaust back on it ran fine to me. My engine is tired already loss of compression from being abused (engine came from a state vehicle, truck towed a damn boat long distances up hills and other stuff). I plan to build a stroker motor and put higher compression pistons in it. Once you get higher compression opening the exhaust is fine. Maybe I'm just the build it big performance junkie :dunno:

Eagle does have a point. But seriously why is American dealers going down that's the question. What is the difference between the japs and American. I swear half of toyotas sales are in Hawaii. But why what makes people so drawn to them. I personally will always buy American. But why won't the rest of the nation, is it the quality, the looks, the resale value, WHAT IS IT!?!
