There was this kid back when i went to highschool, he made like 6 subs in a roll out amp system under the box for his bed. Guess the system was pretty sweet, course its hawaii, the people here aint to sharp. Anyway about a month or two after rolling out those amps to put fuses and such a wire severed and one day it arced and guess what happened to the box and the truck. It was on the side of the road burning. LOL i love it when toyota owners try to think :rotf:

right on i hope it pounds

oh ok, i think mine is like 1.35 which was ideal for the fosgates. I think the kicker 8 is like 1.3 cuft min. So ill see how that works. Hope yours turns out good
-
what kind of sub box you gonna use? Just curious cuz i had 2 8" rockfordfosgates in mine. Home made boxes and they hit hard for the lil things. One got sold and the other box is still lying around, I might put one of those square kickers in it. I miss just a lil bass the 5 1/4s and 4x6's don't cut it.

Yeah mines got a mine of her own too. She won't stall but she gets to about 400rpms some times, and i don't know why. IAC is where i was gonna try first. Then the CPS, i don't know why, but might as well since I'm looking for the culprit. Then vacuum leak check, i know i broke the line on the rear PCV, by the way does anyone know where i can get a new one? Cuz it looks ghetto when theres just a piece of large hose and silicone holding the hose in the pcv fitting thing. i really hope its the first one, so far ive been lucky with first tries

Ok, installed a different MAP sensor and a CTS and the truck runs great. But theres one thing that concerns me. It doesnt idle the same, around 500rpms maybe a little bit more or a little bit less, depends on what it feels like i guess. It starts, runs and drives fine, but the idle is just different and maybe I'm just paranoid. Whats your comanche's with 4.0L idle? Maybe something is wrong.........maybe something is going failing, or maybe its just cuz the MAP sensor :dunno:

starting then stalling or not starting at all

replaced the map with one off a 4banger cherokee. It works now, can't believe the map is made by GM. LOL when i get a new one I'm gonna scratch off the emblem on the back. But I'm gonna change the CTS anyway, just cuz i put it off. -

well hmm when i was wheeling in the vegas heat temp guage went over 220 at times, too hot for me. had no problems with the t stat, have had it in there for over a year. works fine, gets hot on idle when the air starts flowing through the radiator it cools it off.. The speedo doesnt read like once every few months, probly need one too. But my main concern is getting it to run. So I'm gonna go get a map sensor tomorrow. -
Ok jeeps down once again. Must be on her rag or something. Started her up this morning an then half way out the drive way she starts to idle real rough and then completely stalls out and then she won't start again. Just changed the TPS like 3-4 months ago, so i don't think it could be that.Thought it was mechanical, fuel pump or something. But come home to day and give it some gas to keep her alive and the check engine light was on. Did the on off check engine light thing and this is what i got. This is all out of my Haynes book 14: MAP sensor voltage too high or low. Check MAP sensor and circuit. Replace sensor*. (I think this might be the culprit) 15: Vehicle Speed Sensor or circuit-No vehicle speed sensor signal by computer(some time the speedo don't read until i get going on the highway) 17: Engine running too cool- check thermostat for proper operation. Check coolant sensor and circuit. Replace coolant sensor* (got a 160 degree thermostat, lived in vegas so it got hot alot. need to replace CTS anyway) Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

LOL leverage is how it got i broke the tool. Gonna go buy a metal one next time.
-
Ok i know this aint about a comanche but does anyone have experience with those quick disconnect fuel filter on fords. The one you need that tool for. I tore the crap out of the filter, just cuz i couldnt get the other end off the fuel filter. Broke the tool in half(crappy plastic). I need advice on how to get it off cuz now it looks like a beaten up coke can, and it aint off the bronco yet. :headpop: :wall:

LOL, at least I'm not the only one who hates this subject :fs1: . Hawaii is a piece of crap, they follow in the same path as cali, it just takes a few years for them to think about it. Tried to get mine inspected and this is what i got. 1. Headlights are blue(ok wtf) 2.Your tires are almost outside the stock flares( so theres toyotas with 15" deep rims rolling around) 3. My e brake doesnt work(ok i fixed it now) 4. Is this truck lifted "uh no thats stock" (ok 1.5" shouldnt count) That was at firestone. They all are professional. Went to a crooked shop and the guy said he would pass me if i change my headlights. Did that go back the next day and sum punk kid tells me my exhaust is too LOUD!!! Guess what he drove.........A HONDA WITH A FART CAN ON IT! Tried to throw the whole its legal thing and they said "once we saw the flowmaster equipped sticker we aint gonna do it" OK so the fart cans pass, and the camaros with open pipe pass. WTF Looked online on the rules, nothing against exhaust but....... -height limits for trucks -if you got tires that stick out of the body you need flares to cover them Theres more but thats the ones I'm concerned about when i throw my lift and tires on. Some times living in paradise aint worth the hassle

sounds good thanks

Ok that was a PITA to get in. Wires and that brace on the dash were in the way. Now the cable needs to have some slack put in it. So how do i adjust it? It needs to come about an inch into the cab.
-
So DoD, you mean department of defense? And AO, i don't understand. Just got the volunteer job cuz my dad is the chief ranger and asked if the auto shop needed help. So kinda new to the whole government thing and abbreviations. But the job is hella tight, and its a foot in the door with the department of interior/national park service. I have a feeling it government work might become a career. But it sounds like you got to see alot.
-
Oh my bad. yeah i would test but I'm perfectly content with the way it is, its been this way since ive gotten it from my dad so no complaints. I'm in volcano, HI. Ironic isnt it. Like 4 miles outside the hawaii volcanos national park on the big island/island of hawaii, i actually kinda volunteer there as an automechanic. Let me tell you working for the government aint half bad.

Project CRD MJ is born:

sounds simple enough. Keep up the info and the pics. One of these years ill get around to putting a diesel in another MJ. -
The nv4500 was just an idea, just if a 3550 couldnt handle the torque. Like i said I'm 2 far in the stroker direction with my current jeep. So i guess ill go have to buy another to put a diesel in to play around with, but that will be later, but might as well grab the info now so when the time comes i can do it. Hopefully yours will be far from done when i get around to that another comanche so i can ask you some pointers.
-
LOL sounds good man maybe ill tackle that this sunday.
-
well thanks hornbrod for correcting me i just thought i would throw my 2 cents in. Thats why i just deal with it. And think if some one steals the truck on the F mark, well buddy you aint got a full tank after all :brows:
-
well sounds simple thanks. yeah i was gonna clean it a little and maybe put some por15 on some parts just cuz its hawaii. just wanna do everything to keep it relatively rust free. so should there be any grease or none at all. Cuz i could just hit it with some brake clean and be done or should i not do that.
-
LOL mine does that too, i just got used to it. Orange light means I'm full of gas. They had this whole situation explained when JP put the NSG-370 into their comanche. Its because early comanches read full at 80ohms and empty at 0ohms. And the newer ones are backwards. I believe thats what they said, can't tell you exactly cuz all my magazines were thrown away in the move :(
-
yep, well sounds simple. Everyone else says its a PITA.
