what do you call the vacuum hose that runs from the map senser to the throttle body. i'm trying to buy one and i can't find it listed at rock auto.

this is a new installment of a old topic. today i sorted out a last problem with the new wiring and it started and runs :brows: greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :brows: :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana: :drool: :drool: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: two things i learned. remove the grounds from the engine block, thats next to the oil filter and clean them for good contact. the other, remove the plugs from the computer and spray contact cleaner on the male and female terminals. let soak, then take them in and out a few times. let dry throughly, then reinstall. as a maintenance tip this could or will help drivability problems :D

i would pursue it for yourself and the next guy. sometimes we just need to stand and take the heat. besides it pissed me off.

what started my rewire was 21 wires cut going nowhere with 7 of them hot.

i grew up in la, all over la county and i never saw anything that horrible, bad but not that.maybe a pill head that reads too many comic books or watches too many weird cartoons! :idea:

never a dumb question! only dumb people! look up great lakes xj club and down load the fsb for your year. the wiring diagram will be there.

after thinking about this for a while it is also possible the screw inside the ign column could be loose. when i removed mine there were two or three places in the column by the ign sw that were worn. my ign sw had unnatural movement when i turned the key. mine is a 88 so yours being an 87... maybe.

33's with a detroit :brows: :brows: :brows: :brows: the clunk has scared me, but won't trade it.

there is a solid wire like a coat hanger that runs from the ign sw down the steering column to a small box. if that box moved the wire won't engage properly.
