hell, even at full price -248- that's one helluva deal for a D44 and 242. nice find  I had several people walk by and ask how much it was going to be. I replied, "it didn't matter even if it was full price I would still buy it." Had a few more that watched me work on it for a couple of hours trying to free it that said, "is all that work worth it." I smiled and said yep. Only one or two actually said, "what a lucky find." With that said, it truely baffles me that people these days do not take the time to research the item to which they are buying, but rely on the person that is selling it to let them know if it is a good deal.

The one I go to is constantly re-newing it's stock on a weekly basis. They have what they call the row of the day. That row, which is probably 20 vehicles, gets crushed and new ones set out. I get emails for sales, but that's generated by the main site, not locally. I go every weekend and have only come home a couple of times empty handed. There is usually 10-15 XJ's there with an occasional MJ about every other month.

Just go back to the hole it was stuck in and gas it in the opposite direction to twist it back out. :D J/K. That's the second pic on here that I have seen where the drive shaft completely twisted. Would you say your shaft was in good shape? Any rust or damage? Just curious as to factors that may cause this other than a lot of torque.

According to their site, with a few exceptions. I registered with the site to get an email when they have special promotions. http://www.picknpull.com/Salespromotion ... otions.htm Here is all there locations. http://www.picknpull.com/Locations/imag ... ons_01.gif

Well, set out early to pick-n-pull today to take advantage of thier 50% off everything weekend. Got there at 8:20 to find a packed parking lot, so I figured I wouldn't find anything good. Man was I wrong. Scored a XJ D44 with the correct gear set to match my front. Got a 242 T-case. Also some head light bezels. Was going to get some more stuff but I figured I was pushing my luck on getting it home in the TJ. All in all it was a great day, even the weather was nice. :D But the best part is that all that only cost me $124.

1985 Comanche project from Finland, Europe
mfpdm replied to A-V's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Well on a black MJ, if you want it to stick out, I would say white. If you really want it to stick out, go with the reflective white. Someone on here has that, forgot who. If you just want subtle looks, go with a medium to dark gray. Just my two cents. By the way, MJ is looking good. -
This thread should help. It has links to diagrams. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... ght=#73576

?? What ?? Yep, he must of had a really heavy or large size put into his shipping calculator. It would have cost me $22 and I'm one state over. Thanks for the part #'s. I started thinking about the dealership when the price soared. I would have kicked myself had I bought them only to find them cheaper at the dealership.

Headlights now on full time. Can't find souce of prob
mfpdm replied to swilson's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
There's a button? I never have gotten one to come off. :headpop: -
I don't really need them either, but wanted them. A set of brand new out of the box tail lights would have looked great with the new paint job. :brows: I talked myself into going as high as $200 with shipping, but chicken out at the last second, plus it went over my limit anyway.
-
Watched this auctionon ebay for NOS tail lights and as I can tell from the bid history, a few others from here was too. Was waiting to the last few seconds with my high powered sniper, but never got a shot off. Final price $177.50 not including shipping. Question is, How much would you have paid for them? Something to note is the winner has a -1 feedback for not paying. We might be seeing these again.
-
That's perfect, pretty close to what you've got on your rig, right? That's it.

I might have at the $3200, but not $6995. Well probably not at $3200 either knowing how many can be bought under a $1000. It would have to have a rebuilt/remanufactured engine(with warranty), complete interior reconditioning/restored, suspension upgrade, and a professional custom paint job(with warranty) for the $6995. Don't get me wrong, it's a really nice looking MJ. At that price you could find another 92 in fair condition and restore it with some of that coin left over. Plus you get the bonus gratification of doing it yourself. But then again, my current project has close to $5000 and counting and can't move under it's own power. :brows:

I guess I see the one on ebay not as a truck but a civilized truggy. The Brute is more to my liking as a truck. I figure it's the solid bed vs the tube and mesh bed that wins it over.
-
Well, that is what the title says. On ebay with a starting out price of $35,000 and buy it now $50,000. Click me to see

Pat, here's a good example of what the 3800 would look like with the 2 inch cowl. On ebay right now. Nice MJ
-
Those tires look great. How much did they cost, if you don't mind. Let us know how they hold up.
-
Doh! I bet they feel like crap now.

That's about the only thing that was on my mind when reading it, how it would sound. I read the whole thing hoping to see a video or sound clip. There were quite a few others on that forum with some interesting ideas. I'm sure you could change the exhaust around to give it a non-ricer sound. All in all it looked like a staight forward swap. It would be cool to roll up to a ricer an smoke em with a Jeep. :D

Wow, a 2 in difference from front to back. I know the retractable covers are designed like a garage door to compensate for variants. I hope it will allow for the one inch shorter. If I get the cover at a fair price, I'll let everyone know.
-
Thanks  Yep, I seen that as well. Price ranging from $500-700. Was looking at all there part numbers to find what else had the same one. Only other one that matched was the Dodge D50. I've got a line on a couple of used ones in the $250-300 range for Toyotas. Hoping there not to far off in size that maybe a little tweeking can fix. :brows:

Looking around for bed covers I stumbled across this write up for a engine swap into a 89 Dodge D50. Thought since the D50 isn't too much smaller than the MJ, this might be an option for a cool Street MJ. There is alot of different ones on that site just as interesting. 1989 Dodge Ram D50 4G63 Turbo Engine Swap

I can see that. Keep changing the size to increase aftermarket parts. So does anyone have a 2005-2008 toyota tacoma shortbed that they can give me the bed measurements on? Side to side at front and back as well as the lenght.
-
Mine is 56 3/8" in front and 55 1/4" at the tailgate. Almost a 1" taper front to rear. You're right, the bed is not square, the whole thing tapers front to rear. Are you building a cover or buying one? I've never seen a retractable cover, but I know from personal experience that camper shells are built to match the taper. Glad to see that it was not just mine. Very Strange why they did that. I'm curious if other trucks are the same way. I was looking at buying one, but they are very costly. Have been looking for a used one that has the same bed size as the mj. Have also thought about making one. Here's a link for one just as an example. Bed Cover So far I've found them in the $600-$1200 range.

I think it also has to do with good hand and eye coordination. Intelligence would help. I don't think it can be pinned down to one but several things combined together.
