  1. oh, the first picture of it on the trailer is it sitting on 31x10.50 tires with the SOA rear end in it, no rear brakes, stock upper and lower control arms, and stock front and rear ends. it could fit a hella lot more in it when it comes to rubber. now i gotta get a beefier rear end for the thing, hook up rear brakes, new front control arms, track bar, and steering components. new brakes up front and some new tires (those ones are gone...mysteriously?)
  2. pete you're right. but then that takes twice as much money. what if he wants 1 daily driver and not to have his neighbor's irritated that he has a rusted out hulk? money is usually an issue...as well...
  3. i'm diggin the woody.. thinkin that would be the way to go on my bro's maroon 88 mj. all the way back tho, as we're takin the pioneer decals off the sucker. nice trucks, you did a good job on them!
  4. ok off the 89 you can use the front end, you'll need the rear end as well just in case your gears in the 87 are different. you can't use the tranny from the 2.5 on a 4.0, it won't work. but for around 200 to 300 bucks from a good junkyard, you should be able to get a ax15 tranny to match. or a ba10 (whichever the 2wd has stock will be easiest, however the ax15 is stronger) you'll also need the 4wd selector, and the shift linkages for that. mind you, the linkages change between the parts, (i think) so check that as well. use the rear springs...you are correct, 2wd rear springs have less arch. take it from someone with 2wd rears on their (now) 4wd mj. the swap itself is BOLT IN you just have to have the knowhow to do it. and once you're all done, you can simply throw the 89 together as a 2wd with a 4wd tranny, and sell it to someone as a project. obviously also switch the front end if it's damaged. you said their both red, so they should match pretty well with the exception of sun fade.
  5. 10-4 big guy. will (not) do :D
  6. does anyone know if workman's comp. is legally required to pay me for ALL loss of hourse, a.k.a. i cannot work at menards for awhile, and also I cannot work at the aquatic center for awhile. I lost 36 hours in 1 go from this injury. problem is, that's at another job. the injury occurred at menards, but shouldn't workman's comp. cover me for the loss of ability to do work at all? i would presume so, as it's gonna affect my life pretty badly if i can't work and can't even walk (doc. said no weight on my foot at ALL) i really don't get it. do you?
  7. freewebhostingnow and another. seriously Pete, how did you miss that one?
  8. freestarbuxnow i guarantee they're a spammer.
  9. i need to stuff something in my mouth. i jinxed myself. the doctor called today and said a specialist called and has decided i fractured my weight bearing bone on the right side of my right ankle. so they want to give me a boot cast thing...meaning there won't be enough room for my foot to step on the gas. either that or a walking cast. basically, i have to go to the orthopedist and get it checked out even more now. this sucks cause i didn't have any scheduled hours at menards yet and idk if workmans comp. will cover that or the 37 hours i lost this week at my other job. does anyone know how workman's comp works? thanks.
  10. buy the 87, swap the front end and rear end from your 89 into it, get an ax15 5 speed 4wd tranny, and bolt that in. replace the front end from your 89 then scuff the body and either match the front to the rest or repaint it. makes more sense to restore or build the 87 than it does the 89. my 2 cents there.
  11. sounds all tinny then. i rhino lined my floor then layed some new tarp in, cut the holes i needed but caulked it around the seat bolts so water wouldn't get in, then laid the floor and insulation in it and viola! now it works, i pulled it up and 6 months later, no rust!...except for one spot that i didn't catch. that rusted from the outside in :( I HATE RUST!!!!!!!!
  12. haha, no i'm just a dumb norwiegian....sorry lol, i'm laughin now :D
  13. i don't get it mitch
  14. ringtoneman is a spammer. but he's a guest. can ya remove him?
  15. :agree: but maybe asking rather than telling is the way to do things round here. so if you need help, i believe that both of us here are ready and willing :D
  16. don't be so sure. it may or may not...wait and see.
  17. does it bolt up?
  18. geez and i was mad about a week?!
  19. haha, i thought you were asking me if i was keeping the mj. nope, it's for sale. JUST KIDDING i'll have that truck when my kids start driving. i may not have my other ones, but i'll have that one.
  20. if you've ever had somethin happen to ya that took away your ability to drive for a period of time...let's hear it. i rolled my lead foot today at work, dislocated, and sprained it. i may have burst a blood vessel...we'll see about that. but the most important thing is that i can't even push the gas pedal! ahhhhhhh. where's an auto mj when i need it? damned stick shift. and my bro's got epilepsy. now i know how he feels.
  21. I have a friend who has a dodge flatbed bed from a dakota. covers the whole thing, and it's got dump action..or had anyways, when I say flatbed, I mean a flatbed as in a tracter dealership type. one that looks factory or professional...I like the clean cut look. that one's pretty good though, but i want mine to go from cab to rear, and cover the tires as well.
  22. alright, so here's my plans; bolt in a 3.4 camaro engine WITH the mpfi tranny drop kit beef up the rear end with a d44 or a ford 8.8 with 4.10's 4.10 d30 front (unless i find a bronco dana 44) new UCA's and LCA's 6.5" front springs beefed up steering new track bar new floors do something with the bed...whether it be cut off the rust and rivet on some sheet metal or go bedless and 33x10.50 tires...up to 35's if i can find them.
  23. i thought about it, but it won't work. those were FWD engines, and the supercharger relocates the throttle body to the driver's side of the engine, and the serpentine pully to the right side. basically I'd have to cut out my firewall to make room for the throttle body then... but thanks, I'm very proud of it!
  24. i had to take out the radiator on my 2.8 to get the free space to work. well, not HAD to. but I was learning and felt that it would free up some space for me to work. and i was right. with the 3.8 camaro i only have to remove the serpentine. nothing else need be removed to do it :D
  25. if ya wanted to get into it, couldn't you fab. your own oil pan for more clearance?
