  1. they don't make bedsides cause there arent many of these trucks around, and when they DID make them, they didn't sell. the insurance co either has you drive them and pull dents, or totals it.
  2. getting it in the AM $70 no title. so I will be cutting the truck apart to save the back half for a cheromanche 4 door later or a trailer.
  3. once it's removed you can blow into the vac line openings and see if the shift fork moves. use your hand on the shift fork to offer a little bit of resistance...the vac. actuator could "work" but have a small crack in the membrane inside that won't allow it to work under resistance.

funny...article says it's "leaf spring" ya think? I still like it, and if I were to buy a new vehicle, (and this were in production), this would be my purchase with all options.

I'd buy one like the tan one.
  6. hey, what did you do for waterproofing your wiring? I am one of those people who would like a snorkel...one that functions, and a truck built to function along with it. even tho I'd probably never use it...
  7. yep. and the tab situation doesn't trouble me too much....I just wedge something in there and they stay.
  8. new one's nicer than yours...it needs alot of work. I won't be fixing it for a bit, i think it will just sit and i'll rob parts, fix it, sell it after fixing it, or use tateresalad's parts to make it 4wd and put the plow on it
  9. did more today... got angle gauge, set pinion angle. removed axle after tac-welding perches on welder is not up to snuff anymore, so it will have to be welded @ my grandpa's shop on saturday morning. then I can weld my shock mounts on it and get everything permanently mounted
  10. find a date and set it up, I WILL be there.
  11. Do it to the 3800, and dress it like an SCCA MJ. That would be SWEET! haha, would it kill ya to know I thought of putting the 3" lift and 31's on the 89 today, and the 89's lift on the 3800 today? then I thought why do i need a mall-crawler. but then I also need a plow truck. I have a plow FOR a comanche that's complete and functional, but it can't go on the 3800 (stored winters from now on). the 89 is just too high for it too...so if the 89 was lower and the 3800 were higher....:D
  12. *shrug* look at my bro's MJ. it's literally a mall-crawler. but he's doing the necessary upgrades to axles (dana 44 rear) and 3.73 or 4.10 gears eventually. he likes his truck to be capable, even if he doesn't use it for that. others just like their trucks to LOOK capable. and I agree that's total b.s.
  13. it's how I got every one of my comanches. not one was "for sale" well, except tatersalad but that don't count
  14. I'm with beaterjeep...I kind of want one, just don't have the balls to drop one yet.
  15. wow. I NEVER even thought of doing that on the 3800...I need the space up in the front left corner for my intake to go (currently feeding with cone filter BELOW the radiator....not good how much was the tank? scale of 1 to 10 on the install... I can't put a 4.0 reservoir in without re-doing the steel brake line in it since it's an 86 and I don't really feel like doing that...
  16. you're welcome. I had a feeling that if it ran at 1 point but not at another, you simply had a bad connection...
  17. I'd not put the c-clip axle in. if the clip brakes, your truck brakes. with non-c-clip axle, you won't have that problem (unless you FUBAR IT alot)
  18. didn't either till my battery went dead
  19. yep you can run with a junk one. it will just drain the battery.
  20. 88 doesn't have the fusebox under the hood...just in the CAB it has 3 relays there though. replace them, check all of your fuses fixed it
  21. 88 doesn't have the fusebox under the hood...just in the engine bay. it has 3 relays there though. replace them, check all of your fuses
  22. no, if it runs with the key cranked to starter position, you don't have anything wrong with operating systems most likely. that becomes a problem with one of your key on supply wires. there's probably a bad connector inside the cab going to the fuse box or something along those lines. check all wires for burnouts, and all connectors.
  23. and no offense, I do think that this discussion is about quality and capability. it's green light on the gladiator concept. well, it's NOT being built as that article was from 2005. it's a piece of un-productable garbage until they do many, many improvements. don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to see it produced, but only if it's good and capable work which is something that jeep is lacking in.
  24. problem is there is nothing good about the new jeep.
