  1. I have had a broken sway bar link for about two years on the ZJ... It makes a heck of a clunking... lol, they don't clunk with the lift, but the steering is squirrely. comparing the zj w/o a swaybar link to a 7" lifted truck w/o swaybar link is like apples to oranges.
  2. lol. one of the farmer pins broke out of my RC sway bar links...so it will be an interesting drive. I'm all loaded too.
  3. :shake: And the same could be said by what you did with the 3800, now couldn't it?? At least he's using Jeep parts. Do you ever have anything positive to say? Tell you what, why don't you post up "Pat's Rules of Jeep Ownership" so we can all be sure to abide by them. LMFAO dude. seriously, take a chill pill. I post what's on my mind, or tech that I know. as far as the 3800 goes, it came factory with a gm motor...that was a POS, so I put a better motor in it than it had from the get-go.
  4. Image Not Found
  5. confirmed...yours is a renix flywheel.
  6. Homebrewed beer... phenomal food.. and an obscenely large TV.. Beats cold, laying on the ground, wrenching on a truck.... yeah, all that stuff is great but the superbowl itself is worthless this year...the teams in it aren't as interesting as the packers or vikings.
  7. fags. the superbowl is NOT as interesting as working on an MJ...
  8. yeah, but I don't care. packers and vikings aren't there, so it's worthless.
  9. Not necessarily....sometimes a body is so far gone that projects like this, at the very least, give it a new life. the cabs are the somewhat easier parts to find for those.
  10. and, by doing all of that, you'll be ruining a classic jeep that most of us will kill for...
  11. i did not know that. the only liberty I've seen in the junkyard had factory drum brakes in the rear.
  12. renix. I'll confirm that in the morning.
  13. Thank you JeepcoMJ! Guess I'll have to deal with the tiny drums until I save up for the Liberty disc conversion. disc conversion is from the grand cherokee zj, NOT the liberty. early liberties had drums.
  14. don't forget the 1.75" wide or 2.5" wide 10" drums. I've tried putting d35 brakes on an 8.25....NOT interchangeable
  15. well, ordered the new slave and master cylinder, will pick them up on friday. need to do before I can drive it: re-install trans with new clutch, slave, pilot bushing, and master as well as new trans and tcase fluid, and swap to np242 shifter and linkages valve cover gasket PCV system needs replaced/repaired air filter oil change check serpentine pulleys, replace and clean as needed t-stat, and replace t-stat housing with ported H.O. housing swap to open system (closed systems SUCK) coolant flush top off differentials...I'll be replacing them sooner than later with rebuilt ones, which I will rebuild, prep, and paint prior to removing from these trucks. I'll also put the lighter load coils up front and xj shackles in back at that time clean and paint the small amount of rust on floors clean and undercoat underside of floors install interior after cleaning the seats and carpet swap out the rims and tires. replace split rear window so, alot of little things to do
  16. automan ^has a sweet pic of my MJ ^camjeep doesn't know the half of it lol
  17. ^needs to find a more solid MJ to build....so he has a good base to start from. stupid canadia rust lol
  18. are you using a mid 89-90 ax15, or 91+?
  19. it's alive! got her running...on 1 year old gas and oil. no knocks, runs like a champ. now I need to put the trans and whatnot in when the new slave and master show up.
  20. dried out cracked up valve cover more likely...it's a plastic valve cover. I would upgrade to an aluminum valve cover.
  21. let's see... scrapped 86 86 87 87 88 88 89 89 90 saved/sold/kept 86 86 87 88 89 89 89 90 90 a few may have fallen through the cracks...it's too hard to remember. but basically I've killed as many as I've saved.
  22. push your dipstick all the way in. I had an '86 xj with an '88 mj 4 cylinder in it and didn't put the dipstick all the way in once. ended up spraying ALL of the oil out of the dipstick tube. after figuring that out, filling it, and cleaning out the PCV hoses, it never happened again.
