  1. What didn't go as planned? just a bad day at work. I carefully picked the rustiest door (which will get replaced) to throw it at. this was the 90 eliminator I threw it at, not any of the other ones.
  2. I threw a breaker bar at it and walked away.
  3. this will not end well. way I see it, you have a craigslistable item...not an installable one.
  4. the gm 5 cylinder sucks. no power, not great gas mileage. I speak from experience...road tripped in a little gmc 2wd pickup and it was GARBAGE.
  5. no thats nonexistent. lol anyone who finds one un restored 100%rust free and leak free will be my hero :D wait a few weeks, one might just show up ;)
  6. eh. it's just a trans and rear driveshaft. it still needs alot of cleanup...I just have it driveable pretty much now :D
  7. got her moving :D just filled the tcase, put in the rear driveshaft, and moved it forward 3 feet. need to put speedo cable/sender in, front driveshaft in, new ignition tumbler in, reassemble the steering column, finish up the seats and interior, and replace the rear window. then she'll be done and driveable.
  8. rare: 1992 anything. rarer: 1992 4x4 green eliminator (89eliminator has one) rarer still: longbed eliminator (bullykatz and another member, can't remember who, has one) rarest: 2.1 renault turbo diesel (I'm cool enough to have one in the shop @ home) I really can't think of anything rarer than the diesel...so far, I can only find 25 of them in the continental united states.
  9. on top of that, I can't get much worse than 7" lift, 35's, and 4.10's....it's still gonna be better than what the wheeler gets.
  10. because I've already done the lift thing, and then it won't look funny with 215's. ok, agreed on the 215s looking like temp spares on a 4wd, but assuming you are going for economy as a DD I wouldn't think going from 225s to 215s is gonna make much of a difference, jmo. :chillin: *shrug* not trying to bust your nads, just seems like you're overthinking it. a steady foot and consistent air pressure in yout tires will probably get you the same mpg. :dunno: I'm not thinking it at all...I'd just like a lowered comanche. there's no real reason for it, I just want to.

  13. I worked on a few different people's jeeps, and got some work done on mine, too. as far as the significant other thing goes, @#$% 'em.
  14. that was a modified 4dr xj. a 2dr xj has a longer door window, and less distance between the back of the door, and the front of the rear wheel well.
  15. ...and the ba10/5 was NOT used behind an I4...only the I6 4.0, and in 87/88 in the 2.1l renault turbo diesel.
  16. it can be replaced, but it's somewhat hard to find.
  17. well, the trans is (finally) in. np242 is bolted up, shift linkages in, crossmember and trans mounts are in. I have to pick up the proper socket to drain and fill the t-case, and I need a new slip-yoke because this one is too crudded up to run without leaking, plus it won't even slide onto the tcase because the inside is too corroded. also need to toss the front driveshaft in, and lock the CAD (or set up a vacuum switch, like my wheeler). also inspected the brakes, they're close to new (just a little rusty). cracked the wheel cylinder bleeders in the rear and pumped some fluid out, so (surprisingly) I think the rear brakes will actually work with the factory prop. valve. and, the driver's side seat cover is in the washer right now.. good day. the clutch works great, trans shifts nicely. I do also have to swap the actual shifter handles around for the ax15, as the MJ lower shifter base is shorter than the YJ shifter base (so it won't shift if you put the MJ one in)
  18. i think it's ugly as sin. get rid of it. (sorry, I'm blatantly honest most of the time)
  19. just printed the shipping label. it had not been registered yet, so the warranty began today :D they're going to test and replace what's broke, or replace it with another elite. Thanks guys -Pat
  20. the only one i got was 4 ring and it was because it wasnt hooked to the tv. turned on, its frozen immediately, and the whole screen is checkered static...but no rrod from that
  21. I never registered it, and I don't know if zach did or if it was his mom who registered it, or if it ever got registered at all.
  22. vid. card died, it's not actually RROD...it RROD'd because I swapped from HDMI to HDTV connector but hadn't connected it properly, so it gave me a full ring rather than any of the other rings. sooo...I've got a toast elite. I'll have to buy one off craigslist, and keep this one for parts. at least I've got a 120gig hard drive :D
  23. It's 2 years old, it's outside manufacturer warranty. microsoft doesn't cover any other poor designs/software mistakes they've made, why would they cover this just because it doesn't cool well? furthermore, I'd like to put the guts from the 360 into a spare computer tower that I have, along with the guts from my ps2 and a larger hard drive while I'm at it...a friend of mine did this and it's alot more convenient size and wire-wise.
  24. so, my 360 elite (past warranty) just RROD'd on me. after letting it cool down, I can restart it and it will go into startup...so the hardware failure can't be too bad (yet). for sure the fans are screwed...they've been loud for awhile now, and I've been running it with outside fans. anyone here ever had any experiences with RROD? any ideas on repairs? Thanks, Pat
  25. 33x9.50's *might* fit a little bit better than anything else. 33x10.50's won't. you will need to trim a little to make it fit.
