  1. I'm sad that I'm missing this year's show Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  2. Looking for the smallest physical sized AGM battery with around 500 cca or so... Or less cca if less are needed to start my 6.0L ls "11:1" compression and 40° on the coldest day of be driving it. I wanna try to save space and weight. I've found a few brands (xs, stinger, odyssey) that have some 680s that say 1000 Amp max output and 150-350 cranking amps. Some "racecars and drag cars" use this size battery so wasn't sure... 3. Ok, now I'm curious about just street tires. I found 5 more matching rims to what is on the truck so I'll have 2 front tires, same set for 100% of the driving on street and strip, 2 rear tires for street probably matching the front, and 2 rear strip tires (the radials were talking about above) Now I wanna know some good all around driving street tires that will still hold power to the road! 4. I don't really have the first clue on how to tune anything or how it works but I wanted something I could learn snd that a lot of people use. I'm sure after a bunch of YouTubeing and testing I can figure it out Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  5. I already have the Terminator. Thought I was gonna have to have the stock ecu flashed and tuned by a buddy with HP tuners but the holley came in about 7 months early lol. Hp tuners looked so complicated Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  6. To make tuning it easier and simple. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  7. I'm kinda looking into caltracs or some kind of anti wrap. I've talked to the guy that built the red lsxmj and he didn't do anything special really and ran 10s easily. I guess all this I'll find out once I can drive it. Find all the weak points and keep building them! Typical Jeep way. Lol Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  8. Ok, so I'm building a 2wd LS swapped mj. Nothing insane cuz I'm broke but hoping for 500-600 hp once I eventually turbo it. Current specs: 1999 LQ4 6.0L freshened up with new rod and cam bearings, oil pump and timing chain kit, lifters, pushrods, valve springs Sloppy mechanics stage 2 cam Holley Terminator x max for engine management Then eventually possibly one of these turbos; https://turbo4less.com/product/vsr-cast-7875-96ar-t4/ https://turbo4less.com/product/vsr-69-73-billet/ https://turbo4less.com/product/vsr-75mm-billet-compressor-83x75-turbine-1-10-ar-t4-divided/ Any input on these turbos or similarly priced that may work better is appreciated also This build is still far from needing tires, I'm just preparing since the tires on it are junk and can't be driven on and I don't have an extra set to put on to drive it... So I'm looking for some street/drag tires because I'd like to take it to the local strip every once in a while but also hook up on the street if I need to handle business...[emoji6] Right now I'm thinking about keeping the rims that are on the truck which are 7" ZJ canyons and find a set of 8" TJ canyons for the rear... These are the rear tires I have found so far, posted in order of most ideal (in my mind lol) "Mickey Thompson | ET Street[emoji2400] S/S" https://www.mickeythompsontires.com/drag-tires/et-street-s-s "NT555R | Nitto Tire" https://www.nittotire.com/competition-tires/nt555r-dot-compliant-competition-drag-radial-tire/ "Mickey Thompson | ET Street[emoji2400] R" https://www.mickeythompsontires.com/drag-tires/et-street-r And I'm open to any other suggestions or opinions on these tires or anything about the build. Or questions. I'll start a build thread soon. I'd say I'm still about $2000 away from it driving down the road... Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  9. Did it break right around the weld? Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  10. It's a common issue. Mine broke once. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  11. Yes I am! I'll message you Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  12. Besides whats under the dash? That fuse block? Or something else? Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  13. I'll take all the advice and info I can get. I probably won't be doing a de-pinning and running new ones. I just cut all the wires off the engine bay side bulkhead about 6" long and marked which ones I don't need to hook back up and which ones I do. So I may just de pin those I guess so the wires aren't there. The headlight harness will be hidden. I got the idea from another ls swap guy. He ran it behind the fender from the firewall to header panel. So that bundle will be gone. Gonna try to hide the blower motor wires.
  14. I found a diagram and I rewrote it since its hard to read the printed one. I think I will keep the connector, but untangle all the wires and use the "dead" wires for anything I might need in the future.
  15. What I really need is a pin out of these 2 connectors so I can eliminate what. I don't need and hardwire the others coming thru the firewall. Get rid of the big bulky connectors.
  16. I didn't cut anything yet. Just unplugged at the firewall and pulled them out. I don't think I even need the jeep computer for any thing in the cab, correct? So I don't need anything for it. I left everything hooked up in the cab and I just need power to the fuse panel so all of it can work as it did. I'm basically stripping out all the jeep engine wiring and unnecessary stuff out there. I'm hopefully going to have a Holley doing engine management and everything 1990 Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  17. Ok, for this LS swap I took out all the engine bay wiring up to the plug at the firewall. Kept all the wiring in the cab for lights, gauges, heater, doors, radio and whatever else. And the fuse panel I just want to know how to get power to the fuse panel to use all that stuff without the stock wiring from battery and starter and relays. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  18. Ya, ill have to make new bottom plates so might look into it. What is the "advantage" to u bolt eliminators in your opinion? Using bolts instead of u bolts? And am I correct that the explorer 8.8 is a 3.25" axle tube? Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  19. And I think the stock perches are 4" long. Should I make mine longer or same length? Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  20. Well, perches will be a little harder make than I thought. Gotta buy a hole saw then I can do it I think But on a different subject kinda, Why do they call out ZJ v8 REAT coils? Wouldn't the front be the beefy spring? Are the rear springs different between 6 and 8 cylinder? Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  21. I don't even have a lead on an axle yet lol Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  22. I was just going to drill a 3.25" hole in a piece of 2.5"x6" tube and then cut it in half and I have 2 perches Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  23. Right. I want probably at least 2" drop anyways so a permanent 1" wouldn't be a problem at all. Then I'll do the xj shackle for the 2nd inch and see how that looks. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  24. Has anybody made their own lift or lowering perches? I'm wanting to lower my MJ a little bit with my 8.8 swap and was going to make my own perches 1" taller than stock (1.5" from axle tube) Was just wondering if anybody had. Isn't any different than blocks, right? Except they're permanent Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  25. Center them between the fender wells and that's where they go. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
