  1. it would be easier and probably cheaper to drop in a 350...
  2. ever take it off road? nice lookin truck... but to clean for me.
  3. I understand about being in an accident and it being the other guys fault pissing you off, but if thoughs couple of dents piss you off..... hell I don't know. I get more dents then that in a weekend, just beat them out. I wouldn't even turn it into my insurance if your worried about them totaling it.
  4. great wheeling shots. nice to see that someone else here isn't afraid to get dirty like all these rock crawling weenies (j/k guys) anypics of the MJ?
  5. exo cages are ghey... either make it interior, or don't make it.. and don't stick weld it. if you are using the proper materials then a stick weld will not be strong enough or penitrate enough... if you can stick, you can mig.
  6. its not really jeeps, but off-road all together. My old lady loves it. She spends just as much on parts as I do and even decided that when we get married our honeymoon will be at moab or something. Infact I just bought her a 79 toyota 4x4 for her b-day that she can't wait to fix up.
  7. definitely the maroon color...
  8. well hey if you find your self close to BiAp look me up, we can at least talk about wheeling together.
  9. No worrys cole. if where your going is anything like were I'm at then you will be able to post up still. been here in baghdad for about a month now, and on the comp almost everyday.

    wow.....

I don't see a problem with the front drive shaft. I think it's the rear end that has the problem. You'd have to be stupid to run a rear end that is off-set like that. With the SM465 all he would have to do is put in a chevy 205 or 203 and the front would be fine.....
  12. I have talked with a couple people about having to brace the body of MJ's for strength during certain applications. anyone know how ( I realize thereisn't just one way) ?what are the methods you used? pics? what reasoning? Thanks Josh

    Ohio Guys

I am from KY myself and would like to wheel with more MJ's. We have some great spots down here, and I go up to Haspin as well.
  14. I love that show, but I haven't gotten to see it since I left. I like the oe with the VW bug on it, I hate the he wrecks it though... Looks real scary.. I also saw one where a fat guy on an old kawasaki beat a little guy on a new HD V-Rod.
  15. I understand the amount of work involved in doing it, I just thought that it would be neat, and something you don't see everyday, especially on a truck you don't see on the trails everyday. If you bought it as a kit or something for aan XJ (just the front) wouldn't it just bolt, and/or weld right in to an MJ? I have seen some xj's rolling around on coilovers, but mainly western rock riders... I like the muddy, dirty, rock trails in the east way to much to own just a buggy... besides where would i carry my cooler? anyone have pics of an MJ or XJ's on coilovers? thanks Josh
  16. Anyonw running coilover's or seen a manche with them? I have thought about running a set (maybe even just in the front) and only reaching about 6 inches or so of lift... been done? or are they only run on thoughs extreme little buggy things.
  17. You guys need new friends, LOL j/k I really like the vid, just to many jeeps in it for me. I am more of a pick-up guy. But still, thanks for the vid.

    Going to Iraq

I hate to say that this is the best 4x4 forum that I have been on, and most people are relatively close. Yet I have never had the experience of wheeling with anyone from this site. But i feel like I should let everyone know that I am being deployed to Iraq, on the 10th. I will actually be in camp shelby miss. for 8 weeks first so i don't know how much i will get to visit this site. but you can bet your @$$ that when i get back i will be building one hell of a comanche and plan to wheel with everyone that I can. I would like to say thanks to everyone on here who has helped me out with my questions.
  21. I would go with 4.10's as a weekend wheeler. If you need to find your ration count the number of teeth on your ring gear and your pinion. take the number of your ring gear and divide by the number of pinion teeth. ring gear teeth / pinion teeth = Ratio
  22. I have never been impressed with the way baja's run in our type of wheeling, (i.e. Mud and creek bottom rock) though I may have just seen them under a bad driver... plus that's what all the city boy's run on there pretty trucks...
  23. baja's..... bajajajajajajajaja.... hope you don't plan on getting off the pavement
  24. it is also more expensive.
