  1. Its not starting at all now. It turns over, but doesnt fire up.
  2. Its been about 3 weeks since i pressure washed it so I don't think its moisture, maybe just faulty wired or distro cap. Looks like thats next.
  3. So could be the problem be that when I was pressure washing the mud off I knocked something loose with the distro cap?

  5. Fixing the timing on my MJ this evening after work. Has anyone done this? Tips? I have never even seen a timing gun. :oops:
  6. 3m makes double sided molding tape specifically for that perpose. Should be available at any parts store.

  13. TIME ... OUT! This is in your 1987 Comanche? You don't have an "overflow." That plastic bottle on the passenger side of the firewall is NOT a coolant overflow recovery bottle. That bottle is part of the pressurized cooling system. If coolant is bubbling out of it, the bottle and/or the cap is most likely the problem. You can buy new ones (cap and bottle together, don't bother trying just the cap 'cause it probably won't seal to an old bottle) from Quadratec for around $20 or $25. Thanks... Coolant is pissing out of the the "overflow bottte" clearly mis named. I will purchase a new one. Do you have a link to a new one?

  16. Need some trouble shooting help. I can drive about 10 minutes before coolant starts bubbling out of the overflow. I have the dummy gages and am not sure if they even work. I changed the thermostat and water pump. I put the hose in the upper part of the engine and it ran smooth out the bottom. I am pretty lame when it comes to mechanics, whats next?

    Oil Change

    So I took my 86 MJ to a Valvoline quick oil change place today. First the guy argued with me that Jeep never made a pickup truck an mine must be a modified Cherokee, then he agrued with me that my engine was a 2.8. They are doing the final checks and start it and oil starts to shoot out of the filter like I get after a late night trip to Taco Hell. It took them 30 minutes to find the right size filter only after making numerous calls and thumbing through numerous manuals. The guys proceed to tell me that they have never entered a VIN in thier system and it come back "not available" as far as part #'s. Has anyone else had this problem?

  21. If its just for looks with no regard for ride and functionality then why do it? Just throw a bunch of spacers here and there and save yourself some money. I guarantee you when your back teeth are cracking from the ride you will regret not paying more attention to the comfort.
