wow guys i have not been on here for a while and can see that some sour things have happened. i have a chevy right now and hate the thing its a great truck but i still hate it, so i was looking at trading it for a mid to late 90"s jeep grand cherokee aka the ZJ. I want it to have selectable 4x4 : so if any body knows the pros and cons ( other than it not being a MJ) please fill me in. ps: i would get a 4x4 comanche in any shape if it ran good but there none to be found here. :(

that depends on your leaf pack, and how high your perches are. I have a 2wd leaf pack, with 1.5" spring perches that are 8.5" long. gave me 6.5" lift in the rear. if I put in a 4wd leaf pack, I'd have around 7.5" to 8" lift in the rear. if I put in 2" spring perches (make sure they are LONG perches around 8 or 9" long to prevent spring-wrap) in the rear then you would gain another half inch over what I have. I must be missing something :hmm: I have SOA with 4x4 leafs with 1" tall perches and I'm getting about 5". how old are they they could be sagging

just get a high flow performance cat and spend the money there and with the change go buy a cherry bomb GLASSPACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! listen to this:

try to do a longer glasspack it will have the benifit of straight flowthrough design but when your at WOT it will be quiet i had a 36" long cherry bomb and my jeep sounded great at a stop or just driving but i like the sound the best when you drop the hammer down.

something i do is when the motor is still warm and all the oil is out and plug is off the truck. take buy an extra quart of oil and pour it in and let it run through the motor as it comes out the bottom you will find that at first the oul is still black the gradually it will clear up as the fresh oil mixes with old. once the oil you pour in comes out looking the same you can be sure MOST all the old oil is out. i don't think there is a way to get very drop of the old oil out of there but you can come really close doing this. :smart: as for getting the gunk out of there about 500-800 miles before you plan to change your oil pour 1/2 a can of seafoam in to your crank case. that stuff really works wonders... of at least it has for me :dunno:

:hijack: and this is off jeep topic but...... any one know how to lower a 1995 1/2 ton chevy? it has a V6 and it 2wd so pretty much never going to be fast or good at offroading so I'm going street truck with it. i wanting about 5 inches in the front and 6-7 in the rear (i already installed 2" lowering shackles)
