No progress on the jeep because i ran out of room. So i picked up one these on sale.... Its 10x14 and came with a free floor kit(no wood) and was a total PITA to setup alone. If anyone ever decides to put one of these up don't use the floor kit. Instead build yourself an elevated deck to place the shed on. The floor frame kit is pretty useless for keeping level/square but i managed to get it all together and the doors open/close without too much effort :rotf: . Tomorrow I'm going to start putting some shelves in that will also support the roof because i don't trust whats there for any kind of snow load. Once i get all that done i can get back to work on the Jeep .

Well i found myself a decent parts vehicle.... Image Not Found '97 4.0L, Auto, 4wd, Ac....wish it had cruise though :( That dash is going to look real nice in the truck, thanks shelbyluvv for giving me the motivation. Got it cheap because if it starts it backfires and runs like crap. I think the crank sensor is bad and will try and get one from a junkyard to check it out before i start tearing it apart.

Been a long time but life happened....I'm back at it now though :chillin: Drivers floor before patch... New floors welded in by a friend before project got put on hold. Ordered some Rust Converter and Rust Encapsulator from Eastwood to seal the floors up. He did a good job except he didnt butt weld them, now i need to use some seam sealer to seal that up so it dosnt rot out.... Nice bumper that '$500 MJ' made for me. Tight fit but its on for now. I'll probably end up drilling those rivets out and takeing that curved piece out. Need to mark where to drill for the extra mount. Dropped the spare tire when i mounted the bumper. I still smile every time i crawl under and look up :D . I also put in a new wiper assembly but when i turn them off they just stop instead of coming back down, I'll look into that one of these days. Managed to get all the lights working and gutted the converter(why it ran like crap) and was about to get it inspected but after seeing pics of the 97+ dash in "Project Onyx" I'm looking for a new parts vehicle.

.....or at least a dead Bigfoot lying around! :D Then you'll be rich from all your TV appearances and can buy mfpm's when it comes off the factory line again, errr, out of the garage! :rotf:

Quarter Sized Rust Hole in Rocker...
Wanderin replied to 88XJSport's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Wouldnt that foam just suck up any water and accelerate the rust? :???: -
I like the way you have mounted that winch, and great pics.

Most junkyards around me would want more than $75 for a fender. Last time i spotted an MJ bench seat and they wanted $100, which i thought was a bit much but I'm a cheapskate anyways :D

Looks good

If i had made the trip alone i would have visited the area a bit and done some JY treasure hunting. But the wife has her limits :rotf:

97+ conversion on a 86 MJ (new questions.)
Wanderin replied to mfpdm's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
Keep up the good work and pics, now lets get workin on the other one  -
 I got it running  The engine sounds good as does the fairly new exhaust. Put the driveshaft in and drove it around the yard in the rain. Found some more things to fix. Tried the wipers and they went up and stopped  then i tried the lights. Headlights are good but the right turn signal is stuck on, maybe just the relay :dunno: . No big surprise...that little four banger dosnt like turning those 31" tires, seems whoever put the lift and tires on never changed the gear ratio to compensate.

I would like to take the 242 case out of my 89XJ which is 4.0L, Aw4, 242 and put it in my 90MJ which is 4.0l, Aw4, 231. Why? Because i plan on driving the 90MJ as my winter vehicle and the 242 Full Time 4x4 is alot easier to deal with when driving on roads that are patchy with ice/slush/dry spots. Anyways, is it just a straight swap of the T-cases or is there more to it?

:agree: I might have to come out and admire those someday

:shake: Thats what the forum is for, just because i started this thread dosnt mean other members can't communicate(sp?) in it. Besides ill be looking for parts and what not so i make mental notes of who has what in stock ;)

I think I'm going to use my 89 XJ for the donor. Id rather have the Aw4 than a 5spd and the interior is in pretty good shape. But things change and i have my eye out for other parts MJ/XJ, only time will tell what i end up doing.

Hood Vent Install Opinions
Wanderin replied to HOrnbrod's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Got a lifejacket in there somewhere :shake: -
Put a battery in today and tried to get it running, no luck. Had dash power, and lights were working but couldnt get it to turn over. Tried the old screwdriver on the starter and still nothing  . Looks like the starter is toast or its siezed up, either way i don't think I'm dumping any money into the 2.5L just to drive it for 2 months  . Guess ill get it into the garage here in the next few weeks and start collecting more pieces i need for the buildup. Will post updates with pics as we move along.
