  1. Go to the PnP and get a chain..........$12 or so......I'm guessing. RVT is $6 I quart trans fluid is $5 You and down the road for $23
  2. The short answer is..........No.
  3. NAPA, 2004 Image Not Found
  4. I'm going off what I read on the interwebz, which I wouldn't presume as factual haha. I'm a complete virgin when it comes to how the A/C stuff works. Anyway, so from what you've said, I need to find a third can of R-12. That would be the simpler solution to this, huh? I guess I'll take the times to replace the last few O-rings that I neglected previously. Hornbrod may be correct on the R12 system only requiring 2 cans........there may be a volume difference between the two freons..........IDK. I'm only going by what the shop told me to pick up.
  5. Shop that will vacuum down my system.....when I get around to installing it......told me 3 cans of 134a
  6. You'll need to flush the entire system. That means taking it apart. You'll need to drain the oil from the compressor and add 134a oil. Replace the accumulator and expansion valve, all O-rings. You'll need at least three cans. The entire system will need to be vacuumed down before recharge. If you use the two cans of R12, and find a third.......of you have a failure or leak..........SOL and start all over again. And I am not convinced of 30% less cool either........I call BS.

  8. If that XJ were here for $500.........would have bought it yesterday without a second thought.
  9. Found it. 1065mm = 42 inches I assume that is the spring perch width?
  10. I know I have see it here somewhere........ Can someone point it out for me? Thanks A search did provide this- :P
  11. Check your vacuum line to the MAP.
  12. Setting up my rear axle and I need shock mounts. I want to raise the mount location about 1 inch as my shocks are a little on the short side anyway. Any recommendations? These look about right? http://www.jegs.com/i/Currie/272/95005/10002/-1?CAWELAID=1710816411&CAGPSPN=pla&catargetid=230006180000514892&cadevice=c&gclid=CjkKEQjw8YSdBRChhPXJvPvMztABEiQAkn893rKyP4pqNtxh-JwRpDgo0IQuy2pDvBYID7SWNDdmqwXw_wcB And what about spring plates? Thought about snagging a pair of XJs, but I'd really like something that hides the nuts......thoughts? Thanks
  13. These card games that people play are for people with money, not tight budgets. "Tight budgets" mean that people have no money, people with no money do not play money games. I have no credit card, will not have credit cards, do not pay 27% interest.
  14. I paid $2500 for mine. Was 2W, now 4W.....but was rust free and never hit. It's the little things that cost and it will add up REAL fast. I'm about to install a new rear axle, paid $100 for it but will have $300 in paint, disc brake conversion, all new brake lines, bolts, oil, seals, gaskets,..... etc......not to mention a pair of spacers. I replaced my trans a couple of weeks ago......new clutch.......paint......cleaning supplies.......all new seals........rear main seal........bolts..........etc......etc....... $300 there, $500 here........before you know it..........$6K and beyond. Wheels....tires.......brakes.......seals......gaskets.......power steering pumps......shocks..............and it NEVER ends............ Start with a solid truck and go from there. What you are looking at......ain't solid, in my opinion.
  15. Just reading this post......... You will be in this truck for $5K to $6K..........EASY! For a truck you won't be able to give away. Trying to help you out........ I'd keep looking.
  16. Excellent, thank you. Ford parts dealer will know what I mean when I ask for them? And you have no return spring......no troubles?
  17. I did get a rubber gasket. My VC has lugs that the rubber did not go around. I went to the Dodge dealer yesterday and there was no gasket for it, note on parts list stated RTV only.
  18. I would not pay $3500 for a 2.8........never. SUPER clean 86 with a 2.5........maybe.....yeah.......... If you found a clean 86 with a blown 2.8 for say....$900 and then planned on a 3.4 re-power........you would then have about $2500 invested in a clean $3000 truck.
  19. For those who have done the conversion, what cable are you using? I do not want to alter the bar on the brake assembly, looking to keep is as 'factory' as much as possible. I have considered drilling out the cable on the KJ ends and then soldering the cable of my MJ ends.......any problem with that? Explorer cables....one side is too long, other side is too short...... What caliper hoses are you guys using? Thanks.
  20. An ABS CAI that I have to remake, I put this together before I installed the ZJ PS pump. Also, I'm getting rid of the tubes that go into it, I'll have to rethink where the charcoal canister tube will go. Image Not Found
  21. Bobby, with his vacuum troubles, got me energized to get started with mine. Shorty after I got the truck I found an AMC plastic cover at the PnP and installed it. The Ultra Black RVT was no match for a plastic cover. Image Not Found I found this at the PnP off a 91 Wrangler, cleaned up real nice. Image Not Found After 60K miles, she's still clean inside. Image Not Found I used brake line to make up new vacuum line. Image Not Found And a new molded hose on the breather side to the plenum. Image Not Found Next will be eliminating the EGR........to be continued. Image Not Found
  22. No, but I have skinned a few beaver.........lol........... Find another one.
  23. I just pulled the new components out of the box. Compressor is labeled 134a. Tell me about the valve??????
