  1. Still have not dug in to my steering noise. Ordered the new rocker panels, and will be buying some sheet metal for the floor patch. Saving up to buy a MIG welder. Whoo Hoo.
  2. Not yet, and I understand it can be pricey....Just getting opinions at this point.
  3. Cool, Cool! Reason I ask, is, IF the 2.5L ever craps out. (my last one went 300,000) I'm thinking about the diesel conversion....The "bio" would be an added perk. And, If anyone wonders if I'm "green" Not really, although, with Gas approaching over $5/gallon in MN It sure would be nice to kick gas altogether....Not to be "green" But to save some money....Every penny counts. -E.
  4. mvusse....good info!
  5. Hmm...I wasn't aware this was a political conversation.... :huh???:
  6. Hey All, Has Either one been done? Might be a cool conversion.... -E.
  7. I swore I read that as "change your socks" Sleepy.....
  8. pretty sure an MJ was not designed to go 80mph down the freeway. Just because the speedo says it will does not mean its a good idea. Are there no speed limits where you are?
  9. close in the taillight hole, and mount wrangler tail lights?
  10. If you have short legs and a bench seat yer skewered.
  11. Hey folks, I'm getting all my repair panels soon. I'm looking for someone in or near Mpls MN that can help me weld in the panels. I do not own a welder, nor know how to weld. Id be willing to drive it to another location to have it done....PM me please. -Erin
  12. Ok, cool. They have them in stock. I think my inners are OK. Will know more when I start cutting.
  13. I think I found them at c2cfabrication.com....
  14. Hey All, Are there any other sources besides Z&M Jeep for new MJ rockers? Lemme know. -Erin
  15. Unfortunately no, but I did manage to sell a motorcycle project, which means money to put toward the truck....buying track bar soon. Currently my driveway is a very large moat. Ugh. Also looking at buying the rust repair panels soon (ie, rockers)

    Rust

    Jim...Yep. :D

    Rust

According to DirtyComanche's CL scale...I'm at "rusty" :D (ie, drivers floorboard gone, both outer rockers gone, cab corners on the way out. Truck bed side wheel wells gone)
  18. Jim...you're funny. Ha!
  19. As soon as it is warm, that is the next thing I'm looking at replacing....currently about 20 degrees here, and 3 inches of snow rain mix....and no heated shop to work in....Living with it till warm up. -E.
  20. Thanks...I'll call em.
  21. when I went to napa, the guy didn't have a clue. Told me the only gasket they stock is the cork/rubber combo. (its crap) What about one from the dealer? I know they are out there, I just can't find the rubber only one. -E. Edit: Anyone have a part number/manufacterer for the 2.5 rubber gasket?
  22. Napa's website appears to be having issues...I'll try again later, I have a feeling its exactly what I'm looking for. I have not used any additives in the crankcase. I will try to find a new (new to me) cap. The gasket on the cap also looks questionable. I'll pick up the new gasket and try to find a new cap. I had slight blowby on the air filter, but the previous owner had been struggling with a leaking plastic valve cover. I have not checked recently for it. Thanks! -E. EDIT: My valve cover is off a 94 wrangler, which has little "crush" spacers built into the cover. (its aluminum) So, I'm not sure the 87 vcg will work?!?
